Heat’s Meyers Leonard Uses Anti-Semitic Slur During Video-Game Stream

The Miami Heat is reviewing a video of center Meyers Leonard, 29, using an anti-Semitic slur while live-streaming his video-game play.

A Heat spokesman told the Sun-Sentinel the team is aware of the language used by Leonard.

Leonard received a phone call a few moments later and said he had to step away because of something involving his wife.

Leonard is currently recovering from shoulder surgery he had back in January. He is out for the season but has time to live-stream his Call of Duty gameplay. The center's gaming sponsorship has been canceled, according to Fox Sports.

Leonard signed a two-year, $19.5 million contract in November to return to the team as a free agent. He also recently purchased a home in Miami, the article details.

The Miami Heat center recently made news during the NBA's Restart in Orlando as he stood alone for the national anthem as the rest of the team kneeled.

Miami has a club option to pick up Leonard for the 2021-22 season at a base of $10.15 million, but it isn't looking so promising for the 29-year-old center.
