Jordan Love’s Stellar Practice On Wednesday Shows He’s Serious About Replacing Rodgers

Interim Green Bay Packers starting quarterback Jordan Love is answering the call in the absence of reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers—who seems to be auditioning for both Jeopardy! and Where in the World is Carmen SanDiego?

After a stellar practice on Wednesday—following a not-so-great performance on Tuesday—Jordan Love’s maturation at the position is showcasing glimpses of the young quarterback’s willingness to assume the role, even as the organization continues to cry out for Rodgers’ return.

According to reports from Wednesday’s practice, Love’s improved progressions produced a rhythm that helped him connect on a number of impressive throws; including a 40-yarder to Allen Lazard that landed in a bucket.

Love went 20-of-31 right after his sub-par performance on Tuesday—which saw a completion rate of 52% as the quarterback went 12-of-23 during 11-on-11 drills.

The quarterback out of Utah State goes into his sophomore season with the weight of adversity coming from his own team and hopes of a playoff run after last year’s disappointing loss in the NFC Championship game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The QB has expressed a readiness and attitude to start Week 1 against the New Orleans Saints should Rodgers not return to the field—which is beginning to show on the field.

While some are eager to see the MVP make a grand return to Green Bay, others continue to root for Love to fill in the void and take away some of that leverage coming from a whining Rodgers.
