Like a lot of us who are dealing with holiday headaches, a return to the office cubicle and a late December credit card statement, Bob Stoops is looking forward to some tequila. But rather than wait for New Year’s Eve to guzzle down a bit of fermented agave, Oklahoma’s former/current/interim coach would prefer to get a mid-week start.
Specifically, Stoops would like to have a post-Alamo Bowl shooter (or more) if the Sooners can find a way to upend Oregon on Wednesday evening.

In a Tuesday press conference ahead of the Alamo Bowl, Stoops, who is an official partner of Rock N Roll tequila, was asked his thoughts (in the event Oklahoma comes away with a win) on potentially receiving a Rock N Roll tequila bath in lieu of a Gatorade shower.
“That would be OK,” said a laughing Stoops. “What’s the administration gonna do? Fire me?”
Congratulations to our owner, partner, and dear friend @CoachBobStoops on being recognized for the work he’s put in, day in and day out for his entire life, to become one of the newest members of the College Football Hall of Fame… #Boomer pic.twitter.com/2ycMXQmVnp

If all goes as planned, the only thing Oklahoma will be firing is shots — as in firing back celebratory tequila shooters — should the Sooners walk away with a W. FanDuel Sportsbook currently lists Oklahoma as 6.5 favorites.
Stoops is returning to the sidelines after five years away, coaching on an interim basis before Brent Venables takes the reins after the Bowl Game. Oregon will also be led by an interim coach, Bryan McClendon, whom Stoops plans to share spirits with.
“I’ll be sending Bryan some when the game’s over. Some Rock N Roll tequila,” joked Stoops.
