Girls In Hooters Costumes, 'Man Pageant' At KY HS Homecoming Assembly Has Parents Furious

A homecoming assembly in Hazard, Kentucky featuring girls in Hooters costumes with beer mugs in their hands and boys dressed in lingerie giving lap dances has officially caught the attention of CBS-affiliate WKYT in Lexington, and the TV station says it has heard from parents who are furious over this raunchy event.

Bulldog i-Team reporter Shelby Lofton was assigned this story and is on the scene today in Hazard to report on the "event that's drawing mixed reactions from parents."

According to WKYT, parents have said they were "most upset about pictures showing teenage boys dressed in women's lingerie, dancing on and near school leaders."

Photos of the assembly, which were posted to a Facebook page for the school's athletic teams, have since been deleted.

According to the Louisville Courier Journal, the school held a "Man Pageant" and "Costume Day" on Tuesday as part of homecoming week festivities.

"Normally, the principal, Happy Mobelini, is pretty dad-gum strict, so that surprises me, unless someone pulled something out of a hat,” school board member Aster Sizemore told The Courier Journal when asked about Tuesday's behavior. "A kid comes to school with a short dress, you know, he makes them go home and change."

It also just happens that Don 'Happy' Mobelini is the mayor of Hazard, KY. That's Happy smiling over this whole Man Pageant assembly.

In a media environment that needs new outrages to satisfy hungry consumers, it appears Kentucky media outlets have their storyline for the rest of the week. The superintendent has been contacted. The school board has to answer for what Happy's up to over at the high school. Battles will ensue on Facebook where the locals will have to battle with out-of-towners who want to tell Hazard how to run pep assemblies.

Good Morning America and all the others will get their hands on this content and it'll be go time. No doubt the Democratic governor will get involved here and heads will roll over this one.
