Giants Lose Plethora Of Starters In Crucial NFC East Matchup Against Cowboys

New York's got a giant problem with injuries on the Giants roster: Losing their starting quarterback, running back and top offseason acquisition in Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Saquon Barkley was the first to drop out of the contest: Rolling his ankle on Cowboys cornerback Jordaun Lewis in the first quarter, which resulted in tremendous swelling. Barkley was escorted out of the game on a cart in the first quarter, extending the former No. 2 overall pick's history of injuries.

Starting quarterback Daniel Jones was injured in the second quarter when he attempted a bootleg run — yards away from the end zone. He fought fort the final several yards but fell short after a helmet-to-helmet hit with Cowboys linebacker Jabril Cox. Jones stumbled after the hit and was seen trying to regain his composure through visible stumbling. Jones sat out the next drive, replaced by Mike Glennon, and was declared out for contest with a concussion.

The team's nominal lead receiver Kenny Golladay added to the growing injury list after leaving the contest in the second quarter with a knee injury. Golladay signed a four-year, $72 million contract in the offseason and has yet to live up to his status as a big play receiver, mostly due to poor coaching from OC Jason Garrett.

Already missing Darius Slayton and Sterling Shepard on offense, the one-win Giants's anemic roster can only suggest a continual downtrend in Big Apple.
