Former NY Jets WR Al Toon's Daughter Dead In Apparent Murder-Suicide

Tragedy has struck an NFL alum, as former New York Jets wide out Al Toon's daughter has passed away of an apparent murder-suicide in Arizona.

Molly Lillard, 28, was identified as the victim of a shooting in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Reports say her husband, Royce Lillard III, was identified as the gunman who was barricaded in a home with his wife, police said.

The Arizona Republic reported that Royce Lillard was later found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The daughter of the former NFL wide receiver was transported to a local hospital and later died from her injuries, according to The Arizona Republic.

Police said the couple’s 8-month-old child was present during the shooting but not injured.

The daughter of Toon was a volleyball standout, playing in high school in Wisconsin, where she earned two all-conference selections and led her team to the state playoffs twice. She also played for the University of Michigan

Al Toon was a big time wide out for the Jets during his eight seasons in the NFL. He was New York's No. 10 overall pick in the 1985 NFL Draft.

In his eight seasons in the league, Toon put up 517 catches for 6,605 yards and 31 touchdowns. He was named to the Pro Bowl three times and was an All-Pro First Team selection once.
