Former Notre Dame defensive lineman Louis Nix, who nicknamed himself “Irish Chocolate,” has gone missing, his mother told Action News in Jacksonville, Fla.
“Last communication of anyone seeing him was Tuesday,” Nix’s mother said. “Can’t call him because voice mail is full and people he talks to daily have not heard from him. Not like him.”
Nix’s mother added that she believes he is in danger, and that there is no information about his whereabouts.
Nix, 29, played for the Figthing Irish until 2010-14. He was selected by the Houston Texans in the third round (83rd overall) of the 2014 draft, and also spent time with the New York Giants and Washington Football Team. He was waived by the Jacksonville Jaguars in May 2017 and hasn’t played in the NFL since.
He was shot during an armed robbery while putting air in his car tires at a Jacksonville gas station in December, but survived the incident.

Hope he’s found safely and he gets through whatever challenges his life has.
after Vincent Jackson’s sudden death here in Tampa, i fear for this man’s safety. very sad, but this doesn’t seem like it will end well.
unless he is just going no contact for a bit. prayers that he is found in good health.
Praying. Doesn’t seem like he’s had an easy go since retiring.
Heartbreaking. I, too, will be praying for his safe return. Losing a child at any age must be just horrible 🙁
Hmmm… how does a 350 lb. behemoth “go missing”?
Don’t know his background, or affiliations, but I hope this ends well
