Former Jets WR Marshall Says New York Should Go All In To Get Deshaun Watson

The New York Jets remain one of the top 2 or 3 teams in the running for disgruntled Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Watson would fit in well with the huge media market in New York, or so says former Jets wide out Brandon Marshall.

Marshall told TMZ that the Jets are a great spot for Watson, who on Thursday "officially" asked the Texans for a trade.

"The New York Jets are the perfect landing spot for Deshaun Watson," Marshall said.

The Jets have plenty of cap space at $25 million, so they could easily tweak their roster to afford Watson, who is in the midst of a four-year contract worth $156 million.

"The salary cap, we got around $68, $69 million available," Marshall said. "Who do you want?!"

The Jets could use a big name free agent wide out to entice Watson even more, and the likes of Allen Robinson, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Curtis Samuel and Marvin Jones are out there for the taking. A big-time receiver and Watson together would be a great way to start the Robert Saleh era in the Big Apple.

"He's going to turn this thing around," Marshall says.

"And we've been waiting for someone like him to lead the way."

We shall see if Watson is bound for the big city, and if so, whether he can turn the fortunes of the Jets around.
