Folks ... We Might Actually Get A 'Happy Gilmore' Sequel

The cast from Happy Gilmore recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of the film's release. Some of us have never forgotten its greatness, but the celebration did create another news cycle for the classic comedy.

That resurfacing created the opportunity for the movie's two main actors, Adam Sandler and Christopher McDonald, to join the Dan Patrick Show on Wednesday. And what did we discover from that appearance? Both are on board for a sequel.

When Dan Patrick asked if he could green light the production, McDonald immediately gave two thumbs up while Sandler said, "Yes."

“I am double in,” McDonald told Patrick. “I would love to do it. Everybody on the internet has been screaming for it. It would be a complete blast. The senior tour with us two … oh my God.”

Look, most sequels are a terrible idea. The Hangover? Don't know what they were thinking making three of those, since one would've sufficed. Caddyshack II? No thank you. They even gave Van Wilder another go, but ... failure.

Another Happy Gilmore though? Oh, count me in. This generation needs to understand what a real rivalry looks like. Happy and Shooter McGavin can certainly provide that experience.

This better not be a joke (it probably is).
