Florida Man Pulled Over For DUI On His Lawnmower: 'Just Take Me To Jail'

Florida Man Paul Burke, the owner of three previous DUI convictions, was pulled over August 5 for booking it down Highway 316 in Marion County, between Ocala and Gainesville, on his lawnmower.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office says Paul has had his license suspended three times as well as revoked four times all for DUIs and refusals to submit a breath sample. This time Paul wasn't in the mood for the sheriff's field sobriety test.

"There's no sense in it," Paul says after the officer tells him they're going to do the sobriety test. When the officer asks him why not, this Florida Man drinking vet keeps it as real as possible. "Cause I've been drinkin'," he says.

Eventually, Paul, who can barely stand, comes to the conclusion he's in no shape to do the field tests and has made up his mind. "Just take me to jail," he says. And that's that.

The first thing that comes to my mind is: what and how much did Paul drink? Rocked is an understatement here. Does a veteran drinker like Paul even mess with the hard stuff? I picture him destroying Keystone Light or maybe Natty by the 30-pack. The thing is, he must need 50 beers to get this drunk. Paul's no spring chicken. I have to believe he bellies up to a bar and the bartender is under strict orders to keep 'em coming.
