Stop me if you’ve heard this one before…Dr. Fauci wants you to get vaccinated. After pounding the table for everyone on land to get vaccinated, Dr. Fauci’s shifting his focus to the sky, putting his support behind a bill, proposed by Democrats, that would mandate proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test for anyone wanting to fly.

In an interview with the “Skimm This” podcast scheduled for release later this week, Fauci backed the idea of vaccination requirements for air travel: “I would support that, if you want to get on a plane and travel with other people that you should be vaccinated.”
Late last week, U.S. Representative Don Beyer (D-VA) introduced a bill that would mandate proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test in order to travel by air or train. Beyer’s bill would require the vaccination proof or negative test to be presented to 72 hours prior to boarding a flight or train.
Upon introducing the bill, Beyer commented: “Requiring airport and Amtrak travelers and employees to provide a proof of COVID vaccine or negative test is just common sense. These are easy steps we can take to make travel safer, as companies like United have already demonstrated with responsible policy changes.
In August, the Biden administration extended the federal mask mandate for all public transportation (airplanes, buses, rail systems) through at least January 18, 2022. The mandate was set to expire today.
