Falcons Reportedly Set on Player at No. 4

Spoiler alert, sort of.

The Atlanta Falcons are set to take Kyle Pitts at fourth overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. According to two ESPN reporters, the Falcons, despite some buzz, will not trade back in the draft and will go with the superhuman tight end out of Florida.

Pitts was mocked to go No. 4 in OutKick's 5.0 Mock Draft. We explain:

"Pitts seems to think quarterbacks are going in the first four picks. It’s possible, especially with Atlanta having its choice of Lance or Justin Fields, but I feel pretty good about Pitts being the selection here.

"He’s the best player in this draft — yes, including Lawrence — and he’ll continue the Falcons’ tradition of fielding at least two top-notch pass-catchers, even if the team moves on from Julio Jones. At 6-foot-6, 245 pounds, Pitts is a matchup nightmare for the rest of the NFC South."

With today's report, the draft is set to go as follows:

1. Jacksonville Jaguars – Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson

2. New York Jets – Zach Wilson, QB, BYU

3. San Francisco 49ers – ??, QB, ??

4. Atlanta Falcons – Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida

It's unclear exactly which quarterback the 49ers will take at No. 3. If they listen to ESPN, it will not be Mac Jones, who was born a white man, of course.

Not exactly a draft positioned for surprises at the top.
