Epic Tirade Leads To Ejection For Texas Tech Head Coach Chris Beard

Videos by OutKick

Last night, Texas Tech head basketball coach Chris Beard was ejected, and he looked like any of us would look getting kicked out the club. He even got a dap up from one of his players.

Watch:

We’re not entirely sure what the catcher’s position was at about the :14 mark, but he was absolutely trying to get tossed. The only thing that would have made this situation better is if Dr. Fauci had then released a statement about the safety risk of yelling at officials. Happy trails to Coach Beard, who’s probably hungover at a Chili’s right now.

  1. Disclaimer, WVU homer here. Still yet, I think Beard had a valid beef. It appeared as if McBride fell down (which probably was a foul to start), then motioned for time out and a split second later a foul was called. It was bang bang and that’s why the review happened. At any rate, Beard was just pissed the Mounties beat his Red Raiders again and he couldn’t do anything to stop it. Sorry not sorry, T Tech is not nearly the defensive threat as in years past. A little softer too. Don’t sleep on the Mounties though, they have the closest game against Gonzaga (87-82) as any other team in the nation and probably should have beaten them as they held a 9 point half time lead in that game.

  2. The falling down thing at 14 seconds was related to when Miles went down prior to that and they called the foul where it looked like it may have been a walk or jump ball.

I think the game was pretty fairly officiated. It was poorly officiated like all college basketball games are, but it was fairly poor both ways.

    • Yup, see my comment above. It looked like Miles was trying to call timeout and half a second later he was fouled. I wasn’t sure what the ref called. The game was fairly officiated and actually a lot better than most college basketball games for sure.
