Dolphins Draft Trades Continue As They Wheel And Deal With Eagles

Just moments after making a deal with the San Francisco 49ers to acquire future draft picks, the Fins and Philadelphia Eagles have also made a deal concerning the 2021 NFL Draft.

The deal, which was tweeted out by the Eagles themselves, includes Philadelphia trading picks 6 and 156 to Miami, and getting in return the 12th and 123rd overall picks this year and a first-round pick in 2022.

In their deal with the Niners, the Dolphins got the Niners’ 12th and third-round pick (SF’s comp pick for Robert Saleh hiring) in 2021 and first-round picks in 2022 and 2023.

San Francisco got the Fins' 3rd overall pick, a pick they could use to select a quarterback. Though SF insists today that current starter "Garoppolo is the man at quarterback" in 2021, the Patriots have reportedly shown interest in him, and a deal between the two teams could happen.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that the Eagles wanted to try and nab the No. 3 spot, but they would only do it for Zach Wilson. Instead, they backed out, got an extra 1st rounder, and will keep looking to build as Jalen Hurts gets the nod to be the team's starting quarterback in 2021.
