Disney Goes Double Barrel at Gavin Newsom and the State of California

Earlier this month, we told you about an ongoing battle between Disney chairman Bob Iger and California governor Gavin Newsom. It's a heavyweight battle between two titans who could very well vie for the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination. Iger is apoplectic that Newsom's regulations are keeping Disneyland shut down while Disney World operates in Florida. COVID shutdowns and regulations have presented serious challenges to Disney parks, movies, and cruises around the globe this year. The New York Times says that fears regarding the park's reopening have not come true. Iger resigned from Newsom's economic recovery task force at the beginning of October and relations have grown frostier ever since.

Just today, Disney issued a scathing statement aimed at California leaders:

This is practically a public declaration of war. We can only wonder how things will escalate from here.
