DeMarcus Ware Gives His Son's Flag Football Team 10-Yard Headstart, Smokes Them in the 40

DeMarcus Ware hasn't played in an NFL game since 2016 when he had back surgery that ended his professional career, but that doesn't mean he sat around watching Judge Judy and sucking down Big Gulps while waiting for the kids in the school pickup line.

Ware went and became a fitness trainer. In July, he opened 3Volt Fitness in suburban Dallas where he offers a G.A.T.A. program that stands for 'Get After That Ass.' Ware, now 38, is a slimmed-down fitness machine. Joe Thomas might get a bunch of attention on Twitter for his dramatic transformation from offensive lineman to a Keto machine, but it might be time to throw Ware in the conversation for post-NFL transformations. Ware, who played at a listed 258 lbs, wasn't some slob out there, but one look at his Instagram shows a guy who's lost quite a bit of playing weight.

And if you thought DeMarcus would lose a step at 38, he took on his son's flag football team in a 40-yard race.

Here I am attempting to hawk these kids down in my camo @crocs 💨. I gave them a 10 yard start .. that’s fair enough right? My son and his flag football team wanted to challenge me to a 40 yard race... I thought my hamstrings blew out chasing them but I still got it and the crocs hung in there.

PS: These are NOT sprinting shoes .... but I stay ready... couldn’t let the kids punk me😤

Right now it looks like it's pretty great to be DeMarcus Ware, especially because he's not blowing out hamstrings at this age.
