'Yellowstone' Return Timeline Is Not What Fans Might Be Expecting

"Yellowstone" fans better start mentally preparing for the show to go into 2025 before it ends.

The fifth and final season is expected to return in November in order to wrap up the epic western from Taylor Sheridan. It was originally supposed to return last summer for the rest of season five, but an incredible amount of issues behind the scenes - most notably with Kevin Costner's fate and strikes - caused the show to be delayed to November 2024.

Now, fans are desperately searching for updates, and star Ian Bohen revealed a surprising one:

The show won't end in 2024.

"Yellowstone" star Ian Bohen shares unexpected update.

The belief has long been that the show would return in November, and there would be roughly six to eight episodes and the show would be over by the end of the year or, at the very latest, the start of 2025. It turns out that might not be the case.

"We will go back, rumor has it, in May. We should be on in November, roughly…You're gonna have to give me some leeway on that. It's not gonna be sooner than that. It could be June. We shoot six episodes... November... maybe December, and then we go through the holidays, and then maybe season finale...series finale, maybe on Super Bowl, and that will be the end of an era," Bohen told Entertainment Tonight when talking about a return and production timeline, according to Collider.

The 2025 Super Bowl will be played on February 9th, and there is *ZERO CHANCE* Paramount Network airs the "Yellowstone" finale to go head-to-head against the Super Bowl.

That means by Bohen's timeline, the earliest the finale would air is February 16th. February 16th is a full month and half months after the end of 2024.

Fans were expecting a much quicker resolution and conclusion. Now, it sounds like viewers, once again, will have to deal with long waits.

Fun times, folks. Very fun times after too many issues and delays to count.

More than anything, I just want a great ending. If that means we have to wait nearly a year for it, so be it, but I won't be happy about it. Let me know at David.Hookstead@outkick.com if you agree.
