'Yellowstone' Star Shares Disappointing Update On Final Season

"Yellowstone" star Lainey Wilson has absolutely no idea what's happening with the show.

The series is scheduled to return in April to finish its fifth and final season, but updates on how Taylor Sheridan will conclude the legendary neo-Western series have been incredibly limited.

The last major update was that Kevin Costner reportedly is now trying to get back on the series after plenty of drama. It remains very unclear whether or not that will actually happen.

What we do know thanks to Wilson is that it seems the cast is being kept in the dark.

Lainey Wilson shines disappointing light "Yellowstone" return.

Fans hoping to get some juicy new details about how the series will end might have to wait significantly longer. Lainey Wilson, one of the newer stars on the show, revealed she doesn't seem to know anything, but did indicate filming definitely isn't underway.

"I'm still waiting to find out what's happening with ‘Yellowstone.' I have absolutely no clue. I did talk to Kelly Reilly the other day [Beth Dutton] and you know, we'll see what happens," the country music star told Fox News prior to the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards earlier in the week.

"Once they give us the call – we're there," Wilson added. That seems like a crystal clear indication production isn't underway.

It's already April and the fact nobody involved with the show seems to know for sure when production will start is a bit concerning.

November might be several months away, but "Yellowstone" will take months to shoot and the Paramount Network will want a couple of months for promotion. The November return timeline is already getting tight.

If the return of season five gets delayed again, then you're going to see some serious outrage from fans, and it will be 100% justified.

All we want is to see how the saga of the Duttons ends. Is that too much to ask? Give it to us, and let's ride. Have a theory on how "Yellowstone" will end? Let me know at David.Hookstead@outkick.com, and keep checking back for the latest updates as we have them.
