Beers To Honor Toby Keith And Wisconsin Is Terrible | Weekend Recap
Another great weekend is in the books and we all know that means it's time for another OutKick Weekend Recap.
The OutKick family continues to be amazing sending all their stuff to me on X at @dhookstead and to David.Hookstead@outkick.com, but this also wasn't like any other weekend.
It's was Super Bowl weekend, and by the time you're reading this, there's a high chance Patrick Mahomes has his third ring or Brock Purdy has saved America. That remains to be seen, but what I know for sure is that my weekend has been less than ideal.
In fact, it was brutal. The Badgers got their teeth kicked in by Rutgers and have now lost four straight. Seriously, what the hell is going on?
The Badgers went from being the sixth-ranked team in America to being a bubble team. How is that even possible? I did my best to keep a brave face from Dirty Water in Washington, D.C. as I numbed the pain.
Also, I definitely poured a few our for Toby Keith starting Friday night. I still can't believe Toby is gone. He was an American icon and a country music icon.
Someone get me this guy's guacamole recipe ASAP. We don't have time to waste.
If you haven't already cracked a beer to honor him, then I suggest you do it ASAP.
OutKick readers celebrate the weekend.
What was the biggest event of the weekend? The Super Bowl, and as you'd expect, people had a hell of a great time. That even includes my little pregame video to get the festivities rolling!
Look at this meat! This is a man who knows how to get after it for the Super Bowl.
If you're going to watch the Super Bowl, you might as well do it from a great location like this guy.
We even had a reader openly supporting Taylor Swift. What time to be alive!
Hockey on Super Bowl Sunday? I love hockey as much as the next guy, but on Super Bowl Sunday? Bold choice, but I get it. I used to always go to the Caps game before the Super Bowl. Get a nice little pregame buzz going.
Spending your Super Bowl sick is downright brutal. Can't say I'm doing the same!
Fantasy baseball on Super Bowl Sunday? Not today, Bob! Not today.
I hope she means watching Caitlin Clark because she's the most electric women's basketball player I've ever seen.
I believe this means skiing, right? Burn some calories with adrenaline and then catch the game!
Not watching? Lame!
Naturally, Super Bowl weekend is always going to be crazy time, but there's a lot other than just football going on. Let's take another deep dive into what the readers and fans are up to.
How often do I have to say OutKick readers might be the best food connoisseurs on the planet? Look at this masterpiece.
This response really brought me to my roots. I grew up in Randolph, WI. It's a small blue-collar town full of great people and it's not too far from Dodgeville. Same general part of Wisconsin, and it's a fascinating part of America that is full of salt of the Earth people.
Speaking of wrestling, it turns out there are a couple OutKick fans enjoying it.
It's always a great time to spend time with the family, especially on a busy Super Bowl weekend.

We have some people hitting the golf course, including one guy on his wife's birthday. Is she there with him? I hope so or it's going to be a VERY long day.
A working man! That's what we like to see here at OutKick!
Coffee and a toasty fire? Yeah, woke liberals hate this much winning and American spirit.
This couple celebrated Valentine's Day early…….and had a bit of an adventure. It's often the most unexpected times when you find yourself doing something crazy!
Who doesn't love a little hockey? I did earn a few hat trick and play maker patches back in the day, but that's a story for another time.
Remember my comments above about Wisconsin basketball? Welcome back to hell.
I will be very disappointed if I never get an invite to hang out here.
Some more Valentine's Day content! Slow down, folks. You're going to raise expectations for my girlfriend.
Can I interest anyone in some American muscle?
Who doesn't love hanging out in Florida?
That it for this Weekend Recap, and I hope you all had a great time watching the Super Bowl. Check back next week and keep reaching out to David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
