Netflix Drops Sneak Peek Of Keri Russell In 'The Diplomat' S.2

The first look at season two of "The Diplomat" with Keri Russell has hit the web.

The series starring Russell focuses on Kate Wyler (Russell) thrust into being the ambassador to England with the United States and the U.K. on the brink of war in the Middle East (sound familiar?).

Season one premiered in April 2023, and was an immediate hit. Was it a bit much in certain moments? Without a doubt, but still very solid overall. Russell's fastball is still great, and it's a must-watch show for fans of "The Americans."

The first season ended with a great cliffhanger involving an explosion and the unknown fate of multiple characters. That's about as much as I can say without spoiling the entire season.

"The Diplomat" returns in 2024.

Netflix released a video promoting its 2024 lineup, and it confirms that the hit show with Keri Russell will return this year.

Not only did the video confirm fans' expectations, but there was also some very brief footage from the new season.

Give it a watch below, and definitely send me your thoughts to David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

"The Diplomat" is definitely worth your time if you're interested in geopolitics and foreign policy. It's even more timely now considering  the Middle East is on the brink of a big war.

Now, does "The Diplomat" reflect the current situation on the ground in the Middle East? No, but there are some similar themes.

It will be interesting to see if that plays into the second season whenever it drops.

Also, Keri Russell is absolutely legit. She's one of the most talented actresses in the world, and is responsible for making "The Americans" one of the greatest shows ever made.

She crushed it in the FX production, and earned herself an Emmy. She earned another nomination for season one of "The Diplomat," but it will be hard for her to ever top "The Americans."

Now, fans sit and wait for season two of "The Diplomat" to drop at some point this year. It's a great show to binge with your significant other (my girlfriend loves it) over some popcorn and drinks. Have some theories on the new season? Let me know at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
