Upcoming Western Looks Like One Of The Best Movies Of 2024: TRAILER

Viggo Mortensen's new movie "The Dead Don't Hurt" looks like a fascinating film.

The plot of the upcoming Western is described as, "Set in the 1860s, the fiercely independent French Canadian Vivienne Le Coudy embarks on a relationship with Danish immigrant Holger Olsen."

While that doesn't really describe much, the trailer indicates viewers will be in for a very gritty and dark ride as the western story unfolds.

Give the trailer a watch below, and let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

Viggo Mortensen stars in the new Western "The Dead Don't Hurt."

What do we all think? I think it looks like a damn good movie, and it definitely looks like Mortensen still has his fastball. The trailer was incredibly dark and sinister, and that's exactly my kind of vibe.

It appears Mortensen is a man with a moral compass and a code facing overwhelming odds. It's the most successful template for Western films and shows that you'll ever see, and for good reasons.

People want clear heroes and villains. Good guys and bad guys. Hopefully, the good guys win at the end of the day, but you simply never know until you watch.

It's also been great to see Westerns make an awesome comeback over the past several years. You know who we can thank for that?

Taylor Sheridan. He revitalized the genre with "Yellowstone." He reminded people just how fun and deep a great Western can be, and we've seen several movies and TV series attempt to replicate his success ever since.

Now, fans will get "The Dead Don't Hurt" May 31st, and I have a feeling it's going to be a fun one. Let me know what you think at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
