Taylor Lorenz Is Still Nuts Over Covid, Four Years Later

Washington Post tech reporter Taylor Lorenz swears she is not playing a character online, a parody of a fractured white leftist lady born into privilege.

We wish she were. She could've aced the bit.

Rather, she leaves us to believe her online persona is the real her: a sad, frightened little reporter who let the Covid pandemic traumatize her well-being.

Lorenz treats the prospect of Covid today like she did in April 2020.

This week, she engaged in an Instagram spat with randos over the excessive measures the country of Turkmenistan still takes to combat the virus.

Lorenz said people like her are dying and provided the following advice:

"Learn to wear a respirator and give a shit about others."

Here's her rant in full:

Lorenz was far from the only journalist who spewed unfounded fear porn during the early stages of the pandemic. But few have remained as persistent in the mission as Lorenz.

Not until last year did she step on a plane. And it took great courage for her to take that flight, as detailed in her now-deleted tweet below:

Our personal favorite is when Lorenz tracked down the addresses of the family members of the woman who she learned was the creator of the then-anonymous Libs of TikTok Twitter account.

Lorenz found the relatives and harassed them for information.

With her mask, of course:

See what we mean?

She would've been the ideal SNL character – if SNL were still funny and Taylor Lorenz were not seriously nuts.
