Sweet 16 Start Time Has Vols Fan Sara Blake Cheek Fired Up

If the goal of CBS/Turner Sports and NCAA officials was to make sure Vols fans are good and fired up over Friday night's Sweet 16 start time against Creighton, then it's already mission accomplished, according to UT superfan Sara Blake Cheek

The Instagram starlet is fired up over the news that her Vols will play in the Friday night nightcap against Creighton after the Gonzaga-Purdue game that tips at 7:39 ET. Based on a typical March Madness game lasting about two hours, then warmups lasting approximately another 20 minutes, then a couple of commercials thrown in, Sara knows that UT game isn't tipping until probably 10:10 or 10:15 (Andrew Catalon and Steve Lappas will have the call).

"Let me tell you somethin', whoever did this, you have made a terrible mistake," the OnlyFans legend said. "Vols Nation is going to go absolutely insane waitin' on the nightcap. The amount of Mountain Dews and Red Bulls that will be consumed by all of us to stay up until midnight will be dangerous for everyone's health."

Sara also had a message for the city of Detroit.

"If we win, there will be a sea of orange-clad rednecks that are still a little fired up about losin' the war flooding the streets of Detroit," she continued. "In the event that we lose, I hope you Detroit bartenders have taken some psychology classes are are prepared for the sorrow-ridden customers headed your way."

"Also, stock up on Jack, Fireball and anything other than Bud Light."

It's not your imagination that these tip times seem late. Last year, the Friday Sweet 16 early games tipped at 6:30 and 7:15. This year, it's 7:09 and 7:39. The games are getting later. You're being forced to stay up later and sit on your couch until the early hours of Saturday morning in the name of the West Coast audience.

Meanwhile, there's a silver lining to the late tip, according to Scott Bacon. He'd like to remind fans that they can make a night of it by tuning into the UT-Georgia baseball series (both teams are currently 21-4) and then follow that with the Sweet 16 game.

Vols fans are going to be a wreck on Saturday morning.
