Stripper Shortage Has NOLA Club Offering $1,000 Signing Bonuses

The signing bonus phenomenon has reached beyond the fast-food world and into the world of pole dancing and couch dances. It's not just the Taco Bells and McDonald's who are struggling to fill positions -- there are currently 9.3 million job openings, the most in U.S. history. At Larry Flynt's Hustler Club in New Orleans, they need strippers bad. How bad do they need Candys and Mandys?

The club announced this week that it is now offering strippers a $1,000 signing bonus to pull a few shifts at the club that is currently open from Thursday to Saturday because of staffing issues. The NOLA Hustler Club NEEDS STRIPPERS BAD!!!!

According to NOLA.com, the club needs 65 pole vixens to return to a seven-day operation. The problem is that they currently have 15 dancers, hence the signing bonus program. The club also says they're not requiring vaccines for dancers that want to come back to the workforce to shake it to "Pour Some Sugar On Me."

It's not just NOLA having trouble finding ladies. Deja Vu in Nashville announced last week that it would also offer the $1,000 bonuses along with higher pay.

“This is a problem throughout the entire industry, Michael Durham, regional director for Deja Vu Showgirls, told Fox 17-Nashville. "The demand for adult entertainment is greater than the clubs are equipped to deal with after being shuttered for the better part of 2020.”

In May, a Reuters strip club report concluded that many dancers had left California for jobs in states with relaxed COVID rules, like Florida and Texas. COVID rules were killing profits for California dancers who were not allowed to give lap dances and private performances in the VIP rooms.

What's it going to take to get ladies back in the stripping profession? The only answer is money. Now, is $1,000 enough to lure Crystals and Tiffanys? Maybe throw in a free, business-level Costco membership to sweeten the pot.
