Skip Bayless Brings Out The Worst In Everyone

Undisputed co-host Skip Bayless has only been right about two things: Tim Tebow's potential and blaming LeBron for everything under the sun.

Riding the high of his fat contract signed with FS1, the sports commentator took it upon himself to try shutting down a heated retort from Jenny Taft — reminding viewers that Skip Bayless remains as lovable as a personalized letter from the IRS.

On Wednesday's Undisputed episode, the crew consisting of Bayless, co-host Shannon Sharpe and moderator Jenny Taft ran into an awkward moment when Taft spoke up against Skip's ad hominem directed at Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy. Taft spoke out following a segment recapping the events of the first episode of Hard Knocks when Bayless mocked McCarthy over his weight, which Taft found no enjoyment in.

Taft started the tiff by saying, “I don’t know if Mike McCarthy’s motivational speech was the most inspiring, but criticizing his appearance ... I don’t know if that’s a fair shot for Mike McCarthy, I’m going to leave it at that.”

Skip caught the slight and answered, "Thanks Jenny, I appreciate that."

The two started getting into a heated discussion as Shannon Sharpe appeared moments away from tossing money on the table to back his pick in the Taft vs. Bayless bout.

“Is everyone who’s ever coached as fit as you, Skip?" asked Taft. "I don’t think that’s a fair shot whatsoever. I’ve actually had plenty of coaches that have not had the perfect, ideal physique, including my college coach, so I don’t think that’s a fair shot.”

While the remarks from Taft did catch some audiences by surprise, the blatant disregard for chubby champions like Andy Reid was a foul move by Bayless.

Criticizing McCarthy for his weight over his passion as a coach, seen throughout the Hard Knocks episode, sounded out of line and out of touch. The best coaches are often the ones willing to put in the hours watching tape — 40 oz Dr. Pepper and corned beef sandwich in hand.

What Skip and his Cowboys continue to have in common is a natural ability to make people root for the other side.
