Shaq Joins Baker Mayfield In Claiming He Saw A UFO

Shaquille O'Neal was himself once a large and sometimes flying object when he was throwing down dunks during his NBA playing days. But at least you could identify him.

The same can't be said for the UFO that O'Neal claims to have seen.

O'Neal discussed the topic during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live earlier this week. He said he spotted the UFO in California in 1997.

"In Madera, Calif., and right when we passed the fairground, I could swear I saw a flying saucer come down with all the lights, and it was spinning and then it took off," he told Kimmel. "We all looked at each other, and it was like, I know it was a UFO. I don't care what anybody says."

O'Neal is the just the latest athlete to make such a claim -- joining Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield.

Shaq added that he had never told anyone the story of his UFO sighting, fearing that people would just call him crazy.

Meanwhile, Mayfield's claim is more recent, but he apparently didn't care that people might think he's crazy. He put it right out there on social media.

“We were driving home from dinner,’’ Mayfield tweeted. “Just driving back home and had the music going. It was one of those things was looking down at her phone in the passenger seat. It was nighttime so when you’re looking at your phone screen, everything is dark around you and you can only see that light, but it was bright enough to where it caught her attention, too.”

Shaq? Mayfield? UFOs? Those three things would usually be fairly alien to each other. But in this instance, what once was considered normal has become ... well, sort of paranormal.
