Salma Hayek Shakes It For Shakira's 47th Birthday

What happens when Salma Hayek decides to celebrate Shakira's 47th birthday by shaking her ass for Instagram? Magic. Pure Instagram content gold.

The 57-year-old Hayek hopped on her treadmill to get in a few steps and shake her hips in honor of one of the world's all-time great hip-shakers. "Happy birthday Queen Shakira, you are a musical goddess. Thank you for your music. #grateful," Salma wrote after her workout.

"Disclaimer: If you don’t have Latin or Arab blood, don’t try this at home," she added.

Shakira, a Colombian of Lebanese descent who is getting back on her feet after a nasty court battle in Spain over taxes which required the performer to cut a deal to avoid a possible 8-year prison sentence, appreciated the kind words.

"Salma you are amazing. Latino Pride!!! We love you," Shakira fired back as this love-fest rolled along on Instagram.

This is exactly what we need to see more of on Instagram. We need to see peers celebrating the birthdays of their friends and heroes. We need Salma and Elizabeth Hurley collaborating on celebrations in the tropics. Perhaps they invite Christie Brinkley (who turned 70 today), Halle Berry, and Shakira to hang in Tulum. The ladies could rent out a villa, pay for the all-you-can-drink deal and just party for three days.

That's plenty of time to create more content gold. They get there on the first night, someone throws on some Latin music and all of a sudden Brinkley is out there risking breaking a hip shaking it while the other jump into the fray.

I'll say it again: Hollywood ladies, get back to having fun. Stop thinking you're going to save Gaza. Those people have been fighting each other for thousands of years. You have limited time on earth, so use it wisely. Party your asses off.

Stop with the yoga retreats where you fake pretend to be reconnecting with the earth. It's all a lie. Crush tequila in Tulum, turn on Latin music, get lit, risk blowing out a hip and follow Salma Hayek's lead here.

As for Shakira's birthday, I just want to say how great it is that you can celebrate at home with family and friends and not have to sit and rot away in a Spanish jail. Have a great time tonight and please shake it for Instagram.
