Robert De Niro Goes On Insane Rant, Claims Trump Will Hunt People Down

Robert De Niro thinks Donald Trump plans on hunting down entertainers and critics if he returns to the White House.

The Presidential election appears to be a lock to be Donald Trump vs. Joe Biden again as long as both remain healthy going into this upcoming November. There's been plenty of fear porn shared ahead of Election Day about what a Trump victory might mean for America. Most rational people dismiss it as pointless chatter that's just been regurgitated over and over again since 2015.

Well, Robert De Niro is the proud owner of a scorching hot take that he shared during an interview with Bill Maher:

Donald Trump is coming to hunt him and Maher down if he wins in November.

Robert De Niro goes off the rails during interview with Bill Maher.

"If he wins the election, you won't be on the show anymore. He'll come looking for me. There'll be things that happen that none of us can imagine. That's what happens in that kind of a dictatorship, which is what he says. Let's believe him. Take him at his word," the famous actor said during his interview with Maher on "Real Time with Bill Maher."

Maher seemed to be in agreement, noting, "I said from the very beginning this guy is never to concede power and he still hasn't. He still hasn't admitted he lost the last election."

I don't care if you love or hate Donald Trump. That's your right as an American. You're free to have any feelings you want, and Trump has without question given his critics plenty of ammo when it comes to criticizing him. There's no doubt about that.

However, comments like this from De Niro don't do anything other than take away from health debate and discussion. It poisons the discourse. Does anyone really believe Donald Trump is going to spend time hunting down Bill Maher and Robert De Niro if he beats Biden? Did he hunt anyone down during his first term? Last time I checked the answer was no.

Furthermore, we have free speech in America, and our Bill of Rights can't be repealed by the President or any other government official. That's the entire point. Yet, people will hear De Niro's foolish fear porn and immediately believe it must be true. If De Niro feels the way he indicated to Maher, shouldn't he be outside of the country right now with Trump leading in the polls?

The reality is no rational person thinks Trump or any other President is going to hunt down actors and TV hosts. We have constitutional rights in this country and those rights supersede the feelings of the President.

Political debate is healthy and an awesome part about America, but braindead lazy comments like those from De Niro don't do anything to elevate the discourse. He should know that and do better. Let me know what you think at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
