Psycho School Superintendent On Leave After Bullying Daughter's Softball Team
A California school superintendent has been placed on administrative leave after bullying her daughter's softball team for not applauding loud enough when her daughter was receiving an award.

Poway Unified School District placed superintendent Dr. Marian Kim Phelps on paid leave while they continue their investigation after a lawsuit was filed by one of her daughter's teammates alleging harassment, emotional distress and also claiming that the Superintendent and the school violated her first amendment rights.
According to the 93-page lawsuit, Superintendent Phelps was outraged that her daughter "J.P." didn't receive a loud enough applause when she was awarded the softball team's MVP last year during a school banquet. Dr. Phelps began texting and harassing members of the softball team as well as even threatening to NOT LET THEM participate in graduation if they didn't admit to not clapping.

SUPERINTEDENT THREATENED TO NOT LET STUDENTS GRADUATE
"[Superintendent Phelps] made threats aimed at the entire senior softball group that either they admit that they orchestrated a conspiracy to not clap for J.P. at the softball banquet or that [she] would ensure that none of the senior softball players would be allowed to walk at graduation," the suit reads.
If that wasn't enough, Phelps allegedly also created an Instagram account and bullied some of her daughter's teammates - including writing on one post, "Don’t make excuses for horrible people. You can’t put a flower in an ass**** and call it a vase."
What a sentence. I wonder if seniors can include that in their college applications.
Hey Dr. Phelps - if you didn't think your daughter had any friends beforehand, I can guarantee you she DEFINITELY doesn't have any now, you psychopath. I don't know what happened to you when you went to high school, but to live out your own grudges on your high-horse decades later through your daughter is lunatic behavior. God forbid girls aren't nice to each other in high school! You should have just watched Mean Girls, it would have been a lot cheaper for you and not ruined you and your daughter's reputation.

"We are informed and believe that [Phelps’] aggressive behavior is rooted in what she unilaterally perceives to be an intense rivalry between her daughter, J.P., and one of the team’s other pitchers," the lawsuit continues. It goes on to claim that Superintendent Phelps allegedly "instituted, controlled, and orchestrated an illegitimate and biased internal "investigation" that resulted in the other softball player being banned from all extracurricular activities throughout the 2023-2024 academic year.

"The behaviors exhibited encompass gaslighting, retaliation, harassment, threats, bullying, and intimidation, all aimed at inflicting emotional distress on Plaintiff, and stifling her freedom of speech and expression," they argue. The plaintiff's parents say that they are happy that at least something is being done against Dr. Phelps but question why it took so long for them to conduct their investigation.
Dr. Phelps denies all claims.
The fact that this mother was a Superintendent and in charge of thousands of other students' futures shows just how screwed up our school system is. Heck of a job you're doing, Randi Weingarten! Maybe you should focus on rogue superintendents like this rather than trying to rewrite the history of your own failures from the last four years.
I mean this is taking participation trophy society and babying to a whole new level. If this is America's future, we are so frickin' screwed.
