One drought is over, one more to go this winter
Congrats to the Georgia fans who've had to suffer through so many years of disappointment, losses to Bama and so many double-digit win seasons with nothing to show for it. Now it's time for the football gods to turn their attention to Cincinnati where MY Bengals sure could use some good luck on Saturday.
But today is all about the Dawgs and how they finally buried the Tide after so many miserable moments. I've been in my Natty Light-drinking Dawgs fan neighbor's garage during disappointing losses. I've heard the pain in the texts from my UGA fan friend who has whined for years about how Georgia just can't win the big one. I've hired interns over the years who are Georgia fans who were emotional wrecks in December and January, rendering them pretty much useless as bloggers as Georgia lost another big game.
All those demons were exorcised from their brains Monday night in Indianapolis and I'm happy for them. They have the Braves title and UGA's win. Enough with the whining. I don't want to hear any further complaining about anything from people in Georgia. I don't want to hear how it's blazing hot. I don't want to hear you get greedy and whine about the Falcons. Spare me.
Now go enjoy those titles.

I just wanted to say thanks for including my dog Turbo in the screencaps on Saturday and again this morning. I am so glad I got to be a tiny part of the joy and happiness you bring to so many folks every day. I have been bragging to everyone in my office that my pup is now famous, lots of folks around here a “caps” fans already. I’m also a proud member of the TNML.
Good luck next weekend against the Raiders, your Bengals dodged a bullet not having to face Darth Bill and the Pats. Enjoy the chili and the Busch Lattes.
P.S. Thanks to you and the rest of the OutKick Community for all the support for first responders. I’m a Police Captain and also a proud husband of a Police Sergeant (and buddy let me tell ya, she is bad to the bone). It’s so great to see some positive press for first responders when so much of what’s shown in the mainstream media is negative. I am sure most others who work in this field will tell you 95% of the people we deal with support us wholeheartedly, but you’d never know it if you only watch mainstream news.

Thank you to Louie for the email. Speaking of Georgia, I have a friend who is a professor at Georgia Southern who has been begging me to come down to Savannah, but I keep putting it off. Now I have Louie down there with a dog who chews on Busch Light dog toys. I'm running out of excuses for putting off the Savannah trip.
I think the Internet gods are at work here telling me I need to get down there. Hang tight, Louie. Get the beers iced down.

Read basically every day, love it all. Have so many things that I'd love to weigh in on, especially recently the "Don't Blink" topic - 3 daughter's (today is #3's 18th bday). All 3 are/were 3 sport athletes in high school, good but not great, but I can tell you specific sequences for each one for each sport from dozens of games and practices over the last almost 20 years like they happened an hour ago. Burned in my memory, and love everytime I relive them. Just be present, you (and your boys) will never forget!
As for Gauntlet leagues, ran my first one this year with 7 high school friends spread across the US. Actually did the draft online while I was in a hotel room in Germany for work at 3AM my time! It was great for trash talk, required very little time, and brought us back together. What a great concept!

Now THIS is a topic I wasn't really thinking about, but I need to get locked down. Hang tight for the full details, but preliminary plans are to move the event to July so travel baseball dads can finally partake in the tournament. I heard from so many dads who tell me June and anything near July 4 is just not feasible because they'll be hunkered down at some baseball complex six hours from their house and they're already on the hook for $5k to do 9U travel ball.
I get it and I understand how these travel ball dads desperately want to do the PIB Invitational, but they can't miss the travel ball weekends.
I'm here for you guys. I'll adjust the date.

January is the heart of Crockpot season. Normally I'm a grill guy so this is new territory for me. I'm trying to go from January through the Super Bowl with no-doubter, rave-reviewed, classic Crockpot recipes. The goal is to spend Saturday morning prepping and then eat good from Saturday kickoff to the Sunday night kneel-downs with as little effort as possible.
Already knocked out chili (probably going to get a repeat) and beef stroganoff but I'm running low on family recipes. Assuming your indoor cooking season is a little longer - do you/or anyone else have any classics to pass along from NE Ohio?

Do your thing, Screencaps readers. Tom needs those long football weekend Crockpot ideas. He's looking for versatile meals. I can read Tom's mind: he wants something that can be eaten plain and over noodles.
Personally, I'm going chicken tortilla soup for Wild Card Weekend. Canned beers, soup and a homemade guac for the chips. I'm no chef, but I can follow directions enough to get that guac from the avocado to the bowl to the chip.

Yes, my chili is started on the grill; smoke some of the tomatoes, onions and peppers, then bust out the cast iron and cook the meat. That leads me to this question; on one of the last episodes of YELLOWSTONE, there was a debate over whether "real" chili has beans in it.Thoughts/Recipes? (Mine does, and I had my truck windows rolled down on the way to work this morning.)

I don't know if I've ever had chili that didn't include beans. I thought that was the whole reason to make chili. This whole bean-less chili is something that a weirdo hipster came up with.
If you're a bean-less chili guy, I need to hear the reasoning behind such a stance.
