Happy Mother's Day
As you read this, I hope you didn't just realize that it was Mother's Day. Especially if you're responsible for making sure your wife receives the proper recognition due to the fact that you've got little kids.
My wife, as she's learned to do over the years, will usually tell me exactly what to get, or she'll pick something up and say "this is my Mother's Day gift."
I'm a terrible gift giver - I'll have to tell the story one day of a birthday gift I got for her while we were dating.
Let's just say for now that I can't be trusted. Occasionally, I'll hit on a gift of unexpected flowers or an edible arrangement. But overall, my batting average is really, really low.
This year she did the "this is my gift" thing and all I had to do was not screw up and forget to get a card from the little guy. I'm happy to report that I didn't forget the card. He picked it out which saved me from having to do too much.
All I had to do was get the older two to sign it, although they should probably be getting a card for their mother at their ages. The little guy wrote his name, backwards letters and all, then added a drawing for mom.
I did forget to give my own mother her gift when I saw her on Friday, but the good news is, I have the gift and simply need to hand it over the next time I see her.
There's no last-minute trip to try to find a card and a gift. I'm prepared. I'll also make sure to send her a message. Anyway, Happy Mother's Day. Let's get this show on the road.
Derrick Lewis got back in the win column and took his pants off again
Heavyweight Derrick Lewis is one of the most entertaining fighters in the UFC. He proved that once again on Saturday night at UFC Fight Night in St. Louis.
Lewis stepped into the main event against Rodrigo Nascimento having lost four of his last five fights. On the flip side, Nascimento was the winner of three straight.
In the third round, Lewis finished the fight. He left his opponent needing medical attention in the middle of the octagon and celebrated being back in the win column.
That meant his shorts came off, and he added a little extra by way of a full moon for the crowd.
That's how you celebrate a fight. Afterward, Lewis added another all-time moment with his post-fight interview. He was happy to be back in the win column, but at 39, he was also contemplating how much longer he would be fighting and pulling his pants off.
"You don't see too many almost 40-year-old mother f**kers, doing sh*t like that," Lewis said. "I gotta rethink this sh*t."
Derrick Lewis is a legend in his own right. Hopefully, we get to see him pull his pants off to celebrate in the octagon at least one more time before he calls it quits.
Thieves cut a hole in the roof of an Atlanta strip club and stole $250,000
A popular Atlanta strip club was robbed last Sunday by a couple of thieves wearing ski masks. The two didn't enter during business hours or pull off the robbery while anyone was there.
They climbed up on the roof, cut a hole in it, then used power tools to break into the club's safes. FOX 5 reports:
According to police, the suspects appear to have used power tools to cut into the safes. They were able to get away after around 2 hours in the building with around $250.000 in cash without triggering any alarms.
Officials say the suspects appeared to have moved the business' ATMs to face the floor but did not damage or break into them.
The investigation into the theft is ongoing.
That's a whole lot of one dollar bills right there. If I had to guess how these two will be caught, I'd say that one of them heads out to a car dealership and tries to pay for a new car with $75,000 in sweaty one dollar bills.
That's going to be a dead giveaway.
Expert says video of alien spotted in Las Vegas is real
Remember the Las Vegas family who claimed they saw an 8-foot alien in their backyard after a ball of light was seen flying through the air almost a year ago? Well, according to an expert, they did see an alien.
The video that shows what happened when they went to investigate in their backyard wasn't doctored and is completely authentic. Don't take my word for it, take Scott Roder's word for it.
He's an expert and he's examined the viral video of the supposed alien encounter, and it's real. He told News Nation, "Once you see it, you can’t deny it."
"There’s no editing. That is an original video. We tried to debunk it to see if there was something that was added to the video. All of our results came back as it was authentic."
There you have it. This video isn't doctored and there's a giant green head staring at the family moments after a ball of light fell out of the sky.
Alien? I'm not an expert, but the expert says the video is real.
