NYPD Cop Files Lawsuit After Nude Picture She Sent Her Lieutenant 12 Years Ago 'Spread Like Wildfire'

For some, the spotlight is easy to avoid.  For others, it finds them no matter what.  New York City police officer Alisa Bajraktarevic is one who keeps finding herself reluctantly grabbing headlines.

Last April, she found herself at the center of a controversy involving her then-boyfriend Kelvin Hernandez who, according to police, is a drug dealer.  She, allegedly, "jumped out and got involved" after the two were pulled over.

Bajraktarevic denied claims that the man she met at the gym, and apparently had fallen for, was a drug dealer, and she wound up being suspended.  Some say for love.

The 34-year-old Bronx Robbery Squad officer says in a lawsuit that while the situation involving her boyfriend was being investigated, a topless picture of hers resurfaced.

Bajraktarevic joined the department in 2012.  That same year, she dated Lieutenant Mark Rivera.  During their relationship, she sent him a nude picture.  The same picture that resurfaced years later while she was being investigated.

Rivera allegedly shared it in a group text with other cops.  The picture spread and, according to Bajraktarevic, union delegates urged her not to file a complaint.  "You are not the first or last woman this has happened to or would happen to," one allegedly told her.

Alisa Bajraktarevic Says Her Ex Kept The Picture For More Than A Decade Before Sending It In A Group Text

"You do things in confidence.  It doesn’t warrant you being treated like a piece of sh-t," Bajraktarevic told The Post.  "It’s pretty repulsive.  For 12 years they decided to keep this on their phone?  It spread like wildfire."

A union delegate informed her of the resurfaced image.  Bajraktarevic was told a retired officer had sent it to a group chat.  She then started receiving messages on a regular basis from colleagues who had seen or heard about the nude picture.

"It’s bullying.  I’m not the first and I’m definitely not the last but, when is it going to be enough?" she said.  "Because someone is definitely going to harm themselves over it.  It feels like everything was swept under the rug."

Despite being suspended for 30 days without pay and ordered to stop associating with Hernandez following an Internal Affairs probe, Bajraktarevic maintains that he is not a drug dealer in her lawsuit.

Adding that the NYPD hasn't investigated who is responsible for spreading her topless picture without her consent.  Her attorney, John Scola, says the "illegal invasion of privacy" highlights the NYPD’s "disregard for the treatment of its women officers."

Bajraktarevic is seeking unspecified damages from the city, Lieutenant Rivera, and another supervisor she claims sexually harassed her in 2022.  Obviously, if what she alleges took place with her topless picture, and the sexual harassment, she is deserving of those unspecified damages.

But what about the claims that her boyfriend is a drug dealer?  Love could be covering her eyes to the clear signs that he's a street pharmacist, but if he's not?

Maybe he's a reformed man and the suspension without pay along with the order that she stop associating with him is unjustified.  How does that situation get resolved?  What happens when she's caught with him again?

I don't think this is how the love story ends.  Even if she wins her lawsuit, there's more to come.  I feel it in my bones.
