NFL Draft Pick's Mom And Girlfriend Have Epic Power Struggle On Live TV

It's the day after the first round of the NFL Draft, and that means we're all getting a second look at things we may have missed last night.

It's basically Monday Morning Quarterbacking on a Friday, which seems awesome, because it's Friday and not Monday. Basic math.

Anyway, upon reviewing the tape this morning, I found myself enamored with the scene that unfolded at the Olu Fashanu house.

Olu, the tackle from Penn State, was drafted by the Jets last night. He'll try to keep Aaron Rodgers upright for more than four plays this fall. Tough job, but I think he can do it.

Why do I think that, especially when I've never watched one single second of his film? Because I saw how his mom treated his girlfriend last night, and I'm more convinced than ever that Rodgers won't take one sack this season.

Olu Fashanu has a battle brewing behind the scenes

Just textbook stuff from the matriarch of the Fashanu house. This chick never stood a chance. Props to her for basically throwing in the towel early on to save some face. Smart move, but this was never a fight.

Not a close one, at least.

I count at least four elbows. Olu's mom would be kicked out of the NBA for this sort of behavior. It's borderline assault.

But that's what the Jets need in the trenches – someone who's gonna protect Aaron Rodgers by any means necessary.

We all saw what happened last year, and it can't happen again. Aaron doesn't have many bullets left in the chamber, so this year HAS to go well.

And it's off to a good start here with the Olu Fashanu pick. If I'm the Jets seeing that video, I'm THRILLED this morning.

Rest easy, Aaron. You're in for a big year.
