Mud Slide Mayhem Halts Production For NBC Show, Explosive Diarrhea Confirmed On Set

It looks like the mask was worn on the wrong end after a run-in with the runs halted production for a new NBC show titled Ultimate Slip 'N Slide. The show is centered around a set of obstacles and challenges posed for contestants with the added appeal, and difficulty, of doing them all on slippery surfaces.

Montezuma's revenge struck in Malibu when the LA-based, NBC production decided to postpone the show's taping when roughly 40 crew members were diagnosed with giardia.

Giardia, also known as "explosive diarrhea" in the scientific community, "spreads easily and can spread from person to person or through contaminated water, food, surfaces, or objects," per the CDCs description. The sensation in a person's stomach with giardia can be equated to that of a "romantic evening at Applebee's," per an anonymous OutKick source.

Production shut down once it was believed that the bad case of bubble guts started with a sole host and quickly spread amongst crew members. At this point, reports of the incident remain unclear if the delay will impact the show's premiere, which will debut on Sunday, August 8 following the Summer Olympics.

Hosted by SNL's Bobby Moynihan and comedian Ron Funches, the new obstacle show, similar to network hits like American Ninja Warrior or American Gladiator, will be centered around the popular Slip 'N Slide toy adopted by major water parks and front lawns across America.

Per the network's announcement regarding the upcoming 10-part show, the challenges will involve “pairs of siblings, best friends, couples and co-workers in multiple rounds of games, including Human Pong, Body Bowling, Cornhole and Bocce Fall. The two teams that make it to the final challenge will take on the Big Slipper, a multi-part slide meant for only the bravest and boldest players as it determines who will earn the title of Slip ‘N Slide champion and take home the cash prize.”

No word on whether the prize sets will include bottles of Pepto or a package of Huggies.
