New 'Masters Of The Air' Episode Rocks Fans, Shocks Viewers

"Masters of the Air" continues to take the internet by storm.

The Apple TV+ series about American bomber crews in WWII battling the Germans has turned into a massive cultural phenomenon since the first episode aired.

Is it as great as "Band of Brothers"? No, but it's still a stunning achievement, and does an incredible job of shining a light on the brave men who faced hell to rain death from above on the Nazis.

The third episode left viewers in a state of shock after a truly heartbreaking death during the legendary raid on Regensburg. "Masters of the Air" has had a lot of emotional swings, and it seemed like things might have hit a breaking point with episode three.

"Masters of the Air" viewers react to emotional new episode.

Well, episode four didn't slow down at all, and while I won't spoil anything, I can promise you the ending is a punch to the gut unlike nothing fans have experienced so far. Have you already seen it? Let's discuss at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

While I won't spoil anything, fans took to social media with reactions to the fourth episode, and it's clear a lot of people feel the same way I do.

Check out some of the best reactions to the latest episode below.

And I'll leave this year without further context. Read into it as much as you'd like!

The WWII series is outstanding.

I feel like I've said this too many times to count at this point, but "Masters of the Air" is 100% worth watching if you love history or simply love America.

The horrors bomber crews faced in WWII can't be described in words. The casualty rates in the early days of the bombing campaign was nothing short of terrifying when Germany had hardened air defenses and waves of fighters to throw at American bombers.

It must have felt like a death sentence for some of the guys tasked with hammering targets from the sky, but they still went. That's courage that simply can't be defined by anyone who wasn't there. You either have that kind of grit or you don't, and fortunately for the world, American bomber crews had it in overwhelming amounts.

Now, bomber crews are finally having their stories shared in a fashion that can make us all proud. I had a family member on a bomber crew in WWII. His plane had to make a crash landing in Yugoslavia after getting shot to hell during a run over German held Austria. He survived the war with two Distinguished Flying Crosses, only to later be killed in Korea.

There were a lot of men like him, and it's a good thing there were. Otherwise, the world might look a lot different.

Let me know at David.Hookstead@outkick.com your thoughts if you're already watching. Every episode makes me proud of the USA and the sacrifices our brave heroes made. I can't wait for everyone to see what comes next.
