'Yellowstone' Star Makes Interesting Comments About His Future On The Show

"Yellowstone" star Luke Grimes made some…..interesting comments about the show coming to an end.

The hit neo-Western from Taylor Sheridan will finish with season five, which is expected to return in November. There are a lot of questions surrounding the show's conclusion.

None are bigger than whether or not Kevin Costner will return. As of right now, it seems very unlikely he'll reprise his role as John Dutton.

As for Grimes, who released his first country music album last week, it sounds like he's certainly going to miss playing Kayce Dutton.

Luke Grimes reacts to "Yellowstone" coming to an end.

"For seven years, we've been doing this, and we started in 2017. That's crazy. This cast and crew, they're like a second family, we spend a lot of time together. It's been one of the most intense experiences of my life. Also, one of the most rewarding. It's changed my life in every way possible," Grimes told PEOPLE when discussing the impact of the show.

However, it was some other comments that really grabbed my attention. There's been a lot of speculation Grimes and other cast members might join the planned spinoff with Matthew McConaughey. However, he didn't seem to indicate that will definitely happen.

"Nothing will ever be the same because of this show in all sorts of ways, good and bad. I will miss it terribly. I know that. I mean, I think I'm ready to know how it ends. I'm ready to tell the end of the story," Grimes further added.

"I will miss it terribly."

Does that sound like someone who will be sticking around in the "Yellowstone" universe or someone who is ready for their next chapter and adventure? It definitely sounds like the latter to me.

Of course, perhaps Grimes was just talking about the original saga ending, and he's still open to being all in on a spinoff. It's impossible to know, and I'm sure the situation is fluid.

It's the entertainment business. Things can change by the hour. I've always said for years that Kayce will survive the inevitable bloodbath that unfolds when the show ends.

Grimes makes a ton of sense for any spinoff, but it's still not known exactly when it might come out.

We'll see how it all shakes out, but the way I interpret the comments is that Grimes might be ready to close this chapter of his life. Let me know what you think at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
