Lindsay Lohan Has ‘Fire Crotch’ Line Removed From Mean Girls Digital Release

After Lindsay Lohan was hot and bothered by a fire crotch reference in the 2024 version of Mean Girls, the movie has extinguished the line from its digital release.

In the big screen version of the film (it’s not a movie, it’s a film, because we’re fancy around here), Megan Thee Stallion utters the line: "Y2K fire crotch is back," in the direction of the movie’s main character, Cady Heron (formerly played by Lohan in the ’04 version).

Not the worst burn out there, but Lohan wasn’t pleased with the line.

OutKick’s Amber Harding previously noted that Lohan hadn't been thrilled with the phrasing after attending a Mean Girls premiere earlier this year. At the time, Lohan’s representative released a statement confirming as much:  "Lindsay was very hurt and disappointed by the reference in the film."

Now, the movie line has gone the way of my cable - canceled.

Kristen Maldonado, an entertainment journalist, noted earlier this week that the line has since been replaced in digital releases of Mean Girls, which dropped this week.

"We are going back to red," now occupies the screen time that was previously reserved for a line referencing flaming groins.

Not the most seamless transition, but chances are the Oscars aren’t hanging on every line of dialogue.

Regardless, Lindsay Lohan has done the unthinkable and canceled fire crotches. Is she now the most powerful woman in Hollywood? Maybe.

As a non-redhead, I can’t speak for Lohan or anyone else that shares the same color hair follicles. But if it makes her and the like feel better that the line was nixed, good for them.

But, as a man who over the last several years has begrudgingly had to slide into skinny jeans or risk looking like an old guy, I’ll throw an absolute fit if Jonah Hill starts clamoring for the camel tail line to be dubbed over in Superbad.

In the meantime, fire crotch-less Mean Girls is now available for rent ($19.99) or purchase ($24.99) in the U.S. on Prime Video, iTunes, and other streaming services. Get it while it’s hot!
