LA Lifeguards Make Up To $400,000/Year
Do you like the water? Do you like helping people and want to earn close to $400,000 a year without having to work every day?
Well, we have the job for you!
According to a Forbes report, the city of Los Angeles is paying out some massive salaries to lifeguards, with the top earners bringing in up to $392,000 annually.
Those are just the top earners, but Forbes also claims that "dozens of others" are bringing home quite a bit of bacon, more than $200,000 a year.
The biggest bread winning lifeguard in Los Angeles is “acting chief lifeguard” Fernando Boiteux.
Boiteux made $391,971 with salary ($205,619), perks ($60,452) and benefits ($125,900) in 2019, this according to the story in Forbes.
It sounds like the biggest reason these Los Angeles lifeguards make so much cash is because of overtime.
The report states that 31 lifeguards in Los Angeles made between $50,000 and $131,493 in overtime over the course of the year.
Taxpayers in California may want to know (or maybe not) what they are paying each year to public employees - the report says that taxpayers paid out a whopping $45 billion overall.
All to enjoy things like fun in the sun while blowing a whistle.
