Where was Bright Emily?

Guys, I swear BE was there when I hit publish Tuesday morning. After that, I have no idea what was going on with Musk's company. THAT ONE WAS NOT ON OUTKICK. BRIGHT EMILY WAS THERE!

- Andy in Knoxville writes:

Joe, maybe I missed it, but I didn't see Bright Emily today featured in the column, even though she was the headliner!  Just wanted to let you know that you still have some bugs to work out.

I don't normally linger on the IG models, I get more out of the food, travel locations, sports memes, etc., but Bright Emily will cause me to scroll slower.  Get your stuff together!

Thanks for bringing us ABDC (America's Best Daily Column).

Kinsey:

Innocent until proven guilty. I stand by my statement. Musk's team is to blame on this one.

Is this Don or Jim Cramer emailing me about Tesla?

Screencaps disclaimer: Don't buy stock based on Don's stock advice. I don't have the time to edit out all his stock advice. I trust that you have a stock guy you trust. DON DOES NOT SPEAK FOR SCREENCAPS OR REFLECT MY POSITION IN ANY STOCK. THE FEDS SHOULD NOT TAKE THE FOLLOWING AS STOCK ADVICE AND HAUL MY ASS INTO COURT over what Don says.

- Don in Lake Orion, MI writes:

I am shocked that you even considered a Tesla for your rental! Being the strong conservative that you are , I would have expected you to rent a coal roller diesel

️.

Fyi... full disclosure, I am a huge Tesla and SpaceX fan. The two organizations are on parallel in their ground breaking innovations. I met Elon in Detroit in 2010 when he was awarded "Innovator of the Year Award " at the Detroit Athletic Club.

https://www.wired.com/2010/02/elon-musk-executive-of-the-year-innovator-award/#:~:text=%2C%20has%20%5B%E2%80%A6%5D-,Elon%20Musk%2C%20the%20guy%20leading%20the%20company%20that%20proved%20electric,for%20the%20automotive%20industry's%20future.%22

Oh, I started buying my first Tesla shares shortly there after.  If you follow this stock, you'll know it has made billionaires out of common folk who were early adopters. Just saying.

I jumped into the Tesla Roadsters that Elon brought to Detroit and realized the game was about to change.  Keep in mind, in 2010 , GM and Chrysler were in bankruptcy and Ford on life support.  Obama gave Chrysler to the Italians, then the French took it. The first Model S had not yet been produced.

Bottom line , fast forward to 2024, every single auto make on the planet is racing to electrification. Tesla now makes cars all over the planet in "Giga plants".  Texas, Berlin, Shanghai,  ect.

Hertz, under CEO Mark Fields, made a 100,000 Tesla order in one full swoop.

They are not about to not encourage you to lease a Tesla from them.  However, those that follow closely know in the past month Hertz is doing a huge sell-off of their Tesla inventory.  You can, in fact, buy a relatively low mileage Tesla for super cheap.  Why the sell-off? Two major reasons. One: repairs are expensive and lengthy.  I am an insurance guy by trade and my clients who own Teslas have to seek out "Tesla certified "  collision repair shops. It's an extra step and most of these shops are booked out for weeks. My thoughts here, if you use the FSD Full self driving(supervised) you should have much less likelihood of a  collision.

Second,  and most important, the average guy renting a car does not have the.te nor patience to watch YouTube tutorials on how to actually fully use the Tesla Features.

I leased my first Model Y about a month ago only out of necessity when my 2014 RAM 1500 transmission took a dump on me. An $8k transmission repair on a $11 k valued truck doesn't add up. Fyi, I am a Cybertruck reservation holder for the past 2 years.

https://www.tesla.com/cybertruck

They have over 2 million pre-order reservations and cannot possibly get to anywhere near the scale to meet the demand. Tesla offered Cybertruck reservation holders a $1k incentive to buy or lease a: (pay attention here)

S 3 X Y

Tesla is actually selling SEXY imaged cars!

My experience gets better week by week. If you don't know, this car is jam-packed with mind-altering features I am sure you did not even know existed in that screen.

Did you use:

Fart mode

Light show mode

Santa mode

Sound board sound mixer synthesizer

Tesla Arcade- Beach Buggy Racer 2.0

Fireplace mode

Netflix,  YouTube TV

Theater mode

Megaphone

Boom box mode

Phone app that preheats everything

Defrost removes snow

It goes on and on.

In all seriousness,  this f ing car literally drive me everywhere.  FSD supervised is a game changing technology. Like the land-line phone, in the near future,  people will still have a few ICE (internal combustion engine) cars and trucks.  Your kids and grandchildren will likely never touch an ICE vehicle.  It will be like the old man and the flip phone. Wearing those  velcro medical shoes you occasionally see in a Nat Geo mag. Dude, the future is here so enjoy the mindless shit they pack in these cars.

Plus, keep pumping up the stock for me?

Last thing, buy it on this dip.   Coming in August will be the release of the "robo taxi". Yep, the utopian future of cyborg pulling up to take you to your destination is here. RIP the Uber driver.

If you are in Detroit for the draft hit me up! I'll show you the future.

Great job with Outkick.  My son and I are rocking the Travis Mathis shirts. His wife is rocking Thursday night mower lease Tee. She's about to have the second Granddaughter any day now. She Will probably finish the perfectly striped lawn, grab a shower and go deliver Granddaughter 2.0!

Slay the day and buy on the dip!

Kinsey:

Don, I mean Jim Cramer, I didn't want to dig into Fart Mode on the Tesla iPad. I wanted to interact with a real-life human in the form of John Daly while I was in Augusta.

I'm firmly on record stating my dream car was the 2002 Honda Civic that I drove for years. It got me from Point A to Point B and the car didn't need to hear my heartbeat to start up. I could get in, use a key to start the motor, put it into drive and the dashboard wasn't sending signals to China.

All that said, thanks to Don and his family for being big TNML supporters. Hopefully one day Don is buying stock in this mowing league.

More and more Great Americans are taking the TNML pledge

Kinsey:

After that wild email from Don, nothing cleanses the palate like an American taking the pledge to take pride in property and community. This league is changing the world one lawn at a time.

Been enjoying the column for about a year now, just wanted to reach out about the cable issues you’re having.

I’m sure this isn’t something that can be added in the column for obvious reasons, and possibly something you’ve read/heard before. I haven’t paid for cable in well over 5 years and have had huge bills in the past because I relocated to Phoenix back in 2007 from Cleveland, I had to keep up with my local sports. I bought a jailbroke firestick(Amazon) several years back and have since done it for myself and have been able to watch anything I want at 0 cost other then the internet bill.

I would post links in the email, but I would be suspect of clinking those links myself if some random just sent an email about free TV to me. That said there’s easy video tutorials on rumble and articles with step-by-step instructions on Google. I recommend Kodi with add one of mad titan for live sports and live TV, the crew is also good. As far as TV shows and movies cinema hd is the app I use the most.

It’s a 15 min process and has saved me thousands. I will say occasionally there are buffer issues or you have to refresh the link you’re watching, but especially with summertime baseball is it really going to affect you if the consumption cost nothing? I use it for the Browns the Cavs and the Indians, btw, I appreciate the fact you still call them the Indians.

Kinsey:

Like Don pimping out his Tesla stock, I WILL NOT CONDONE SUCH BEHAVIOR AS WHAT ANONYMOUS IS TALKING ABOUT HERE!!!!!

That doesn't mean I'm going to judge. I'm not the app police!

However, I work for a media company. I can't be caught using a jailbreak stick off Amazon.

Just FYI...Fubo does not carry TNT, TBS, and the other Turner channels if that is something of interest to you or the wife. Found out the hard way when I couldn't watch a lot of the Stanley Cup playoffs a few years ago.

Kinsey:

Will my Paramount+ account cover the Stanley Cup coverage?

I need an assistant to keep this all straight. I work in tech. I have two laptops in front of me and four screens and yet I feel like I can't keep up with this shit. And you guys wonder why I go sit on the patio and listen to the birds chirp.

Clay's limited-edition DBAP balls are used on a Cabot Farms golf trip

Tom in Atlanta was lucky enough to be on the winning team at the inaugural Screencaps at Augusta Scramble and took home a sleeve of the ultra-rare Clay Travis OutKick DBAP ProV1s for his efforts.

Fox News Corp. doesn't even sell the Clay Travis DBAP balls these days. Those things are collector's items.

- Tom in Atlanta writes:

Just wanted to share that after being on the winning Augusta  Joe Kinsey team, the OK DBAP Pro V1s were used on my golf trip to Cabot Farms and Streamsong. Our golf trip was 7 rounds, although I am doing both Cabot Farms' The Wedge, and Streamsong's The Chain (11 holes and 19holes of mostly par 3s, respectively) I counted as one round combined. We played Wednesday through Sunday. I stunk. Honestly, it was a very bad trip for me playing wise, and i regret getting moody and using some profane language. I came in last in my group and although we don't have the totals, I lost all but one round in every conceivable way, and only won 2 skins for the week. Just some of my worst golf of the year.

I prefaced all that to say that I should have stayed with the DBAP Pro V1s as I used them at Cabot Farms day one and never lost a ball, and that was my only day of any winning bets. But I had brought new balls for every round...thinking that would be good. It was not. Regardless, the golf trip is more than just the golf, so it was good to be with the guys, even if I was the worst of the bunch sometimes sulking, etc.

For the golfers, I think the rise of the short courses are fantastic. I've now played #8 at Pinehurst, Bandon Preserve, The Baths at Whistling Straits, and the aforementioned ones on this trip. Great for betting and a more relaxed time. I do think they should all be 18 holes, however. And they should all contain 2-3 hole in one opportunities with big bowls that feed to the flag, or like in Bandon, a hole that is more than 100yds, but you can putt it down the hill to the green...I actually won a skin on that hole last year.

What are some other golfer's favorite short courses out there?

Thanks, Joe. I'll use the DBAP balls on my next round for sure!

Kinsey:

If you're looking for proof that Screencaps readers lead some interesting lives, Tom in Atlanta is in the yacht refrigerator business. I'm telling you, there's never a dull moment with you guys. Between the military guys who've done some wild stuff to the guys like Tom in Atlanta who is in the business of keeping beers cold while people around the world enjoy a day on the water, this place never stops being interesting.

Digging in clay

- Greg S. writes:

This is probably late advice for you. I have heavy volcanic clay soil up here in Pinetop, AZ and I used a jack hammer rented from Home Depot ($40 per day) to help dig holes. It made the work so much easier!

Kinsey:

I attempted to buy a 3" auger bit to get the job done, but these damn box stores don't sell them unless you want to wait three days for a shipment to arrive. I had a window of great weather, arbs sitting on our patio and I needed to get moving. I should've asked Home Depot about renting a post hole digger.

Now with four arbs to go, my auger bit should be here today. It looks like Saturday will be my next window to get the rest of the trees in the ground. All in all, I can't complain about this project. My body was sore, but I'll survive.

- Dean from Monroe, GA writes:

Joe, old grumpy ass Dean from Monroe Ga here.quik tip when digging in clay. Use a sawzall(Recip saw). Outline ur hole, cross cuts and pull out the dirt. Makes it a lil easier. Good luck. I have been to the Mickey Ds in Madison and can agree with u there. Good luck with the privacy screen.

Kinsey:

Good call with the Sawzall. I'll bust it out this weekend to at least test it out.

The McDonald's painters caps

- Alex R. writes:

One of your posts [Tuesday] talked about local McDonalds shirts but can we address the glaring point in that pic that was missed....painters caps.

That is a true "You are a Gen  X if...." Item.  How did someone convince us that this was a cool thing to wear basically a paper hat? I know I had one as a kid and it was bitchin (edit it you need to but also another underappreciated word to describe things) at the time. Mine was BMX themed or maybe Vans, and I am sure I wore it to the theater to watch RAD.

Kinsey:

Uh oh, Alex and my buddy Diesel are about to become best friends. He mentioned RAD. That's Diesel's favorite movie. Wait until I tell him about Alex's email. It's over. These two will be sipping bourbon and telling stories.

#####################

That's it. It feels like Tesla Don will cause some emotions to fly while I'm working throughout the day. I'm officially locked into heading north into the D on Thursday for the NFL Draft, so that feels good. It's nice to get out and about with the NFL fans to see their emotions, their new jerseys, their costumes.

Detroit should be fired up this week and the weather is going to be good. This should be a content slam dunk.

Go have a great day.
