Will Hit TV Show Return For Another Season? Lead Actor Breaks Silence

It sounds like there is a very good chance "Outer Range" will be back for another season.

The hit Amazon Western/sci-fi series with Josh Brolin returned last week for season two, and it was absolutely incredible.

It was every bit as electric, mysterious, dark, ominous and engaging as fans were hoping for after a lengthy break. You can read my full review here.

Josh Brolin discusses future of "Outer Range."

As soon as season two ended, fans wanted to know if season three was locked in and happening. The future of the show remains up in the air, and it likely all comes down to whether or not Brolin wants to do another season. It definitely sounds like he's very open to it.

"The idea of a season three is very intriguing and not something I would necessarily, in most cases, look forward to. Wanting to carry a character that far for that long, even the idea of doing a play for two years just sounds awful to me. You want to get in there, 12 weeks of work, have your impact, hope it is good and get out. I think that is much more my mentality, and it is why I got out of TV in the first place. But this is different. This has its hook in me. I don’t know exactly why. I don’t think any of us does," Brolin recently told Variety when talking about the future of the show and a potential third season.

This might be a very selfish thing to say, but I hope like hell Brolin pulls the trigger on committing to another season. The show is simply too great to end after two seasons.

It's one of the most ambitious stories we've ever watched unfold on TV. It's "Yellowstone" meets "Stranger Things," and it's a massive success.

Without spoiling anything about the ending of season two, the show is in a unique spot. There are a million different ways the show could go from here, but the season two finale could also act as a permanent conclusion. The show definitely has options.

Let's all keep our fingers crossed Brolin decided he has at least one more season left in him. We need great entertainment options, and "Outer Range" is right near the top of the list. Let me know your thoughts on the series at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
