Mrs. Screencaps IS NOT running a weed grow operation
Looking back, on Thursday, I should've clarified what Mrs. Screencaps was up to in her grow room. She's growing GERANIUMS and PETUNIAS, not weed! Here I was using "grow operation" when I didn't realize that would lead to all the weed growers emailing me hoping to help Mrs. Screencaps grow weed.
She's growing straw flowers and tomato plants from seeds, not weed! That's my mistake. She's seed to table, not seed to stoned.
Not that there's anything wrong with that. I just want to make this clear in case any of you end up meeting her at the Two-Club Invitational on August 3 at the illustrious Cherrywood Golf Course. I don't want you going up to her asking is she has a dime bag.
SMH!
She's not in the laundry room listening to Crosby, Stills & Nash and blazing. She's out there with her water bottle spritzing her geranium seedlings in silence. She won't even let the Doodle out there because she thinks the dog will eat the plants.
In other words, we're starting to get in deep around here.

My wife also has her own grow operation. Last year it was in the basement. This year she deemed the basement "too chilly" for her plants. Now they are strategically placed around the upstairs to "maximize their growth potential before transplanting". It may start on a shelf in your laundry room, but be careful my friend… be careful. And yes, she is talking to them as I was writing this.
Kinsey:
I hear you, Jon. In six weeks, I've seen this operation…grow. But I planned ahead. There is an expansion opportunity for her in the basement where there's great ventilation, heating and humidity control.
If this is Mrs. Screencaps' version of me going golfing for peace and relaxation, then I'm going to make it as comfortable as possible for her. If she runs up the electric bill $25 a month with her LEDs, we'll have to eat the costs. I'll spend that on 19th hole hot dogs in one month.
I'd also like to thank Jon for understanding Mrs. Screencaps isn't growing WEED, even though I think it's legal in Ohio these days.
Do you have a grow operation that Mrs. Screencaps needs to see? She loved Mrs. F's setup, BTW. Send in photos of your op for her to peruse.

Thanks for the TNML sticker! Mounted on the mower like a NASCAR vehicle :)
Anyhow, Mrs Screencaps could name it:

We are visiting TGCs brother in Oregon This is Tillamook Bay on the Pacific coast , spectacular !
Kinsey:
One of my favorite areas of the United States, Mike T. It's been way too long since I've driven the 101 where you could easily drive off a cliff if you're too mesmerized by the Pacific Ocean. I'm also a big fan of Cape Disappointment. I really need to get out there, see nature, maybe visit Screencaps reader Vern, maybe see if he'll show me his salmon hotspot.
Has The Masters weather taken a turn?
Anonymous Masters Worker sent me a weather update last night, but I'm not the least bit phased by this news. I predict a morning mist while Canoe Kirk and I are in the gift shop and then it's going to turn absolutely beautiful when we walk out the door. The birds will be chirping. All will be right in the world.
Fingers crossed.
‘Thanks gramps’

I, like many others near my age got into the game of golf because Tiger Woods made the game cool & appealing to a younger generation. The other, quite frankly more significant reason was because it was a game my grandfather really enjoyed.
As a kid I couldn’t stand the game. Thought it was dumb that a negative score was a good thing amongst a multitude of other reasons. Picked up the game when I was in high school which coincided around the time my grandfather began his bout with cancer. Made no sense then & still doesn’t to this day about freakin difficult this game is chasing around a little white ball. My gramps’ health went downhill pretty fast before I could make it out on the course with him which was something I was really looking forward to.
Fast-forward to now, here I am just like you & many others about to make my inaugural pilgrimage to Augusta & seems as though things have come full circle. Couldn’t be happier to be going than the group I’ve got. Stopping to play Tobacco Road along the way & square off for our group title belt & bragging rights.
When my grandfather passed the one thing that I got was his golf bag. Given the magnitude of the trip I decided I’d polish up that old green leather bag & fire up some memories along the way. The clubs will have to sit this one out, but if I ever make it to the 2-club invitational I might have to apply for a special exemption to bust out those rockets & give ‘em a ride. Picked up a second gig years ago that’s led to me being a certified club fitter.
If you or anyone else out there has questions on clubs, gear, etc. don’t hesitate to reach out. Dollar clubs don’t fix nickel swings, but there’s a lot out there than can be helpful. Thanks for all you do. Look forward to crossing paths potentially on Tuesday. Added some pictures of the gear & a shot of my grandfather during his time in college.
To you & the rest of the community, what’s the coolest gift you got/inherited from your grandparents?
Kinsey:
Great topic, Ricky, and it's one that I can answer immediately. I might've written about this in the past, but here it goes again. When I was 12, I was going through some boxes at my great-grandmother's place. I don't remember why, but I came across a box that had this 4X4" book titled "Autographs" on the front.
I was at the height of my baseball card collecting life. The word "Autographs" definitely caught my attention. I started turning the pages and couldn't believe my eyes. It turns out my great-grandfather and great-grandmother would take that book with blank pages to Spring Training each year and get autographs back in the 1960s.
Based on my recollection – I haven't opened it in years – I believe there are at least 20 hall of famer autographs in that book, not counting Pete Rose. You have Bench, Perez, Hank Aaron, Stan Musial (a beautiful autograph that I believe is in Sharpie, but I don't know if Sharpie was even a pen back then), Jim Palmer, Yogi Berra, Harmon Killebrew, etc., etc.
That's off the top of my head.
Needless to say, the autograph book is incredible, and I'm fortunate to have found it because I'm not sure if it would've been saved when my grandfather started liquidating his mother's things after her death.
One of the best compliments I've received during my Internet career
I remember a few years ago, I was complimented by Jason Whitlock over my Lia Thomas coverage where I interviewed the first Penn swimmer to speak out against Thomas. A boss at the time, who had worked with Whitlock for years, told me to save that compliment because Whitlock doesn't throw those around very often. I have it somewhere. I did save it.
Last night, I received one from Clay that I'm saving. While Clay has complimented me plenty over the years, he's not a mowing guy at all. He's firmly on record saying the first thing he did after making money was to hire landscapers. He hasn't mowed since getting rich.
He's anti-mowing when it has anything to do with Clay mowing. I don't think Clay has pruned a tree in his life. He leaves me go with TNML because it's my thing and he can't relate to the content play at all.
That's why this was a big moment in my Internet career. The guy truly likes the 2024 TNML polo that was sent to his house. He even texted me how much he likes it. That's when I know Clay really, really likes something.
The polios sold out in less than 24 hours, but T-shirt Manager Olivia G. says the store will be re-stocked soon and there will be 3XLs AND we're ordering double the amount of shirts in the first edition.
Speaking of TNML, "hero" gets thrown around a little too much, but in this case, the guy is a hero. Watch the video and see how the 67-year-old landscaping guy handles himself. I bet the scumbag thief doesn't try to steal landscaping tools again.
If you read Nightcaps on Thursday, you learned, like I did, that Quiznos still exists – barely
• Joe St.A. in California writes:
Jersey Mike’s and Ike’s are far superior to any of the places you listed. Does Quizno’s even still exist? Togo’s used to be decent, but they are long gone around me.
Stick to the mom-and-pop shops. In San Luis Obispo there are several great sandwich shops, Gus’s, High Street Deli, and Lincoln Market. I realize we are lucky here to have great sandwich places.
Kinsey:
Joe, that list belonged to Zach Dean. That wasn't my list. That was in Nightcaps! If you want to get into a war of words over sub shops, Zach is your guy.

Skip travel ball and travel gymnastics
• David in Florida says:
Wanted to add my two cents regarding Brian in AZ and travel ball/gymnastics cost.
I realize this may not be for everyone but many years ago I was in a similar situation, not from a financial standpoint, travel ball hadn't gotten bananas yet, but one of logistics. Kids playing different sports, practicing at different times and places.
I finally had enough and got them all involved in martial arts. One stop shopping for the whole family.
One of the best decisions we made.
PS. how do we get the Screencaps community to take over DC? Maybe a year.
They'd have this country fixed in no time.
Best read on the net everyday.

That's it this morning. Tomorrow morning, I'm going to dump out the reaction to the eclipse. I was surprised how many of you are into eclipse tracking and vacationing around an eclipse. We'll get into that and my final preparations for Augusta. We'll check the weather forecast one more time and I'll react accordingly.
Until then, let's go have an incredible day. Enjoy the women's basketball Final Four if that's your thing. Remember, Clark is playing in the late game so you'll sit through the first game and people won't turn off ESPN. This is basic TV 101.
Take care.
