Harrison Ford Injured During ‘Indiana Jones 5' Filming

Harrison Ford, 78, was recently injured while filming scenes for the fifth installment of the Indiana Jones series, appropriately titled Indiana Jones 5. A fight scene featuring Ford as the world’s most beloved archeologist, Indiana Jones, managed to do something villains like Rene Belloq, Mola Ram, Walter Donovan, and a host of others, haven’t been able to successfully accomplish – injure Jones.

Per Yahoo, a Disney spokesperson commented on Ford’s injury, saying: “In the course of rehearsing for a fight scene, Harrison Ford sustained an injury involving his shoulder. Production will continue while the appropriate course of treatment is evaluated, and the filming schedule will be reconfigured as needed in the coming weeks.”

This isn’t the first time Ford, who has also starred in blockbusters like Star Wars and The Fugitive, has been injured on set of a film. He suffered a leg injury while on the set of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and hurt his back while filming Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

After multiple delays, shooting for Indiana Jones 5 began a few weeks ago in the U.K. Filming is expected to continue despite Ford’s injury. James Mangold is directing the franchise’s fifth installment. The four previous Indiana Jones films were directed by Steven Spielberg, who is involved only as a producer this time around.

The original Indiana Jones, Raiders of the Lost Ark, hit theaters 40 years ago. Barring any additional injuries, Indiana Jones 5 is scheduled to premiere in July of 2022.
