Ford Recalls Thousands Of Broncos On Same Day O.J. Simpson Dies

In a 'You can't make it up' scenario, Ford recalled tens of thousands of Bronco vehicles on the same day that O.J. Simpson was recalled from his Earthly life and passed away at the age of 76 following a battle with cancer.

44,652 Bronco Sport and Escape vehicles were recalled on Wednesday due to possible cracked fuel injectors that could lead to a fire, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced yesterday. Ford says that the recall is mainly for vehicles that were manufactured in 2022 and 2023.

OF ALL DAYS…

There were definitely no fuel shortages on June 17th, 1994, when OJ Simpson led police on an hours-long low-speed chase in the infamous white Ford Bronco through the Los Angeles streets and 405 Freeway before ultimately surrendering to authorities at his house.

Nearly every American that was old enough remembers exactly where they were when television channels broke into their programming to capture the police chase - even the NBA 1994 NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and Houston Rockets was put in a mini box at the corner of the screen while the network took the live helicopter feed of OJ fleeing from police. In total, over 95 million people tuned in - just absolutely absurd numbers.

Ford would eventually pull that white Bronco line in 1996 after backlash due to the horrific murder details of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. In 2020, they debuted a new line of the vehicle.

Still, whenever someone is seen driving any sort of Ford Bronco, everyone is immediately brought back to that day in June. And you can be sure that the person that bought it knows exactly what they're doing as well - and apparently over 44,000 of them have been sold in the past two years alone based on yesterday's Ford recall!

Which leads me to this question - did you ever own a Ford Bronco and would you, based on everything that went on with OJ Simpson?
