Driver Fights Off Three Carjackers Attempting To Steal His Bentley In A Grocery Store Parking Lot

Three would-be carjackers got more than they bargained for last Friday when they attempted to steal a man's Bentley from a grocery store parking lot in New Jersey.

The masked suspects snuck up on the driver after he parked and attempted to drag him out of the vehicle.  They were likely not expecting the fight the vehicle's owner put up.

This wasn't the driver's first carjacking.  He had a Mercedes G-Wagon previously stolen from him.  This time around, the suspected juveniles didn't get away with his vehicle.

The group did manage to eventually pull him out of his luxury SUV and knock him to the ground, but he fought back.  And with the key fob in his pocket, he was able to make his way into his family's grocery store to call the police.

His father, the owner of the grocery store that captured the attempted carjacking on its surveillance camera, talked about the incident.

"When I saw the video I was scared, what happened, but then I called and my son said, 'I'm safe dad, don't worry, everything is good, just minor scratches,'" Kaushik Patel said.

The Driver Of The Bentley Was Able To Fight These Carjackers Off, But They Still Haven't Been Caught

The driver wasn't hurt in the altercation with the three carjackers and was already back at work at the family business.  According to police, the incidents of high-end vehicles being stolen often involve young teens who don't spend much time in custody if they're caught.

The risk of a slap on the wrist for tens of thousands of dollars per theft is worth it to them.  The mayor of Edison is launching a response to the increase in crime.

Considering this is the second time the Bentley driver has been targeted by carjackers, he might consider it too little too late.  Not surprisingly, authorities are still searching for these three suspects, who are on camera trying to steal a vehicle.

Good luck if you're driving around in a nice vehicle in Edison.  It sounds like you're pretty much on your own.
