Democratic Lawmaker Calls Criticism Of Biden's Mental Fitness 'Ageist' and 'Ableist'

Supporters of Joe Biden cannot use the race or gender card to defend the president, the two most effective tools the Democrat Party can wield. But Rep. Steven Horsford (D-Nev.) has found a workaround.

Appearing on CNN, Horsford called questions about Biden's cognitive abilities a form of "ageism" and "ableism."

"What I find interesting is the issue is more around ageism, ableism, and not what this president, President Biden, has done," Horsford told host Abby Phillips.

"His age didn‘t keep him from lifting 50% of children out of poverty. His age did not prevent him from passing a bipartisan infrastructure law. His age didn‘t prevent him from passing the bipartisan Safer Communities Act in order to keep our community safe from gun violence. It is his experience and his civility, because he actually cares about the American people."

Not quite.

Joe Biden is unfit for office. He struggles to speak coherently or maintain a train of thought. Whether that's due to his age or a neurological condition, it's a concern.

Call us "ageist" or "ableist" – we prefer a president who can work a full day, think clearly, and is mentally stable. Joe Biden is none of that.

Most of the country agrees. A new CBS News poll found that 72% of registered voters say Biden should not even run for president.

Is 72% of the country "ageist" or "ableist"? Or are they just reacting to what they see: a feeble, diminished man trying to convince himself he can run the most powerful country in the world?

Further, we don't expect the age card to prove effective in terms of easing criticism of Joe Biden. He has already lost the likes of Stephen Colbert, George Clooney, NBC News, and various hosts at CNN.

Biden is no longer a sacred cow.

Voters want him to step aside. Democrat elites want to replace him. And according to internal polling, independent voters in battleground states do not plan to vote for him.
