LSU Fans React To Horrific David Hookstead Death Threat, Suggest Alabama Fans Are Worse

Some LSU fans have pretty weird reactions to the death threat I faced from a Tigers fan.

As OutKick readers know, I faced a horrifically violent and racist death threat from X user @MetroSpider2900 (name was previously listed as Jordan but now reads FIREMARSHALLASTRONAUT, whatever that means) earlier in the week because I said Caitlin Clark is a better role model than Kim Mulkey, Angel Reese and the rest of the LSU roster.

He left a voice message stating, ""Hey big, homie. I'm just trying to let you know I'll slime your ass out. I'll wipe your f*cking nose. I'll kill you, bitch. Keep Angel Reese's name out of your f*cking mouth, boy. What the f*ck wrong with you, white trash."

For those of you who haven't listened to the threat, you can hear it below, and send me your thoughts to David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

LSU fans try to deflect on David Hookstead death threat.

It was brought to my attention that multiple threads on SECRant.com had popped up about the troubling threat.

I expected everyone to come together and agree that killing someone over a women's college basketball opinion was utterly insane. However, that's not how several LSU fans are treating the situation at all. They have a very different spin:

1) It's either fake or 2) if it is real (it is), then Alabama is somehow worse and I'm a beta male.

Yes, LSU fans decided that instead of condemning their own unhinged fan for threatening to kill me, they quickly pivoted to somehow making the situation about Alabama or trying to explain it away.

Check out some of the reactions from SECRant.com below, and hit me with your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com:

  • Wow I’m sure that dude is a pure LSU fan. Who also gives a literal fricking sh*** what this r**ard posts on twitter. He literally looks like he’s been crying in that "ain’t backing down video". Guy looks like a huge dweeb lol
  • It was just a matter of time that Mulkeyman went postal.
  • A Bama fan would've just killed him
  • That guy is thankful it wasn’t Alabama. They would have just shot him on spot.
  • You really love LSU
  • That's awful. Do better LSU.
  • First a male fan charged the court to fight women, now this thug pos threatening to kill a man over an opinion What a pos fanbase
  • It’s probably a bama or s Carolina fan trying to pin it on lsu
  • I have been an LSUWBB season ticket holder for many years. LSU fans could not care less what the national press or so-called commentators think about our WBB program.
  • This is completely fabricated!
  • Shuuuuurrrrrr.
  • [In reference to Alabama fans] Precedent has been set from killing family members, opposing fans and trees when things don’t go their way.
  • LSU fans, folks..
  • LSU fans, ladies and gentlemen.
  • The Mulkey cult is real
  • Trashy
  • Over woman’s basketball? This level of depravity only exists at LSU. Not surprising this thread is just a bunch of LSU fans deflecting and making excuses for their sick fan’s criminal behavior. "But but Alabama! Sniffles:"
  • "But but but big bad meany Alabama! Sniffles!!!"
  • At least Bama fans do it over an actual sport and not some sh**e show like women's basketball.
  • "Addressing the horrific death threat against my life by a deranged LSU fan. I will not surrender. I will not apologize. I regret nothing. I won’t allow criminals to intimidate me for telling the truth about Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese." What a fricking beta.
  • I'm pretty sure that is the whole 2024 America racist, sexist, homophobic National Emergency trifecta. He's lucky he's still alive.
  • An LSU fan losing control of themselves on the internet...seems to be a pattern for you guys. Alligator mouth on the internet, hummingbird arse in real life.

I also didn't even include all the links dropped in from LSU fans talking about Alabama supporters killing people. Just an unhinged spin.

Nobody is to blame here other than the insane LSU fan who thought it was appropriate to threaten to kill me over a Caitlin Clark opinion.

That person is Jordan/@MetroSpider2900. The fact any fan would defend it is, frankly, crazy to me.

Now, I will say several LSU fans have reached out privately saying how they don't want anything to do with this loser, and they want it to make it clear they don't condone his actions.

Fair enough. I appreciate the support, but it's pretty jarring to see the deflecting going on. Again, this all started because I said Caitlin Clark is a better role model than LSU's team. Here are few quick hitters for anyone who needs some proof of the chaos in Baton Rouge:

I will not back down, I will not surrender, I will not apologize and I damn sure won't be intimidated. Let me know if you agree at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
