Cop In Uniform Caught Shoplifting $140 Shoes - Allegedly

It's one thing for a cop to (Disclaimer: allegedly - innocent until proven guilty) shoplift $140 shoes. It's another to shoplift the shoes from a Dick's Sporting Goods while you're in uniform.

Columbus, Mississippi police officer Robin Conner was fired from the police force Thursday morning by city council after her arrest Wednesday for the theft of the shoes from Dick's.

Conner, 33, had been with the department since 2022, according to The Columbus Dispatch. The media outlet further reports that Conner put on the shoes at Dick's "and tried to walk out of the store wearing them."

Remember, she was in uniform while this was happening.

Based on the latest figures via ZipRecruiter, the average salary for an officer on the Columbus, Miss. force is $55,585.

Conner's boss, chief Joseph Daughtry clearly wasn't in the mood for the bad press created by his officer. ""We’re putting her in jail," he told The Dispatch.

"It’s embarrassing for the department, but we’re going to treat her like we would anybody else."
