Controversial Wheel of Fortune Contestant Tells Fans To Calm Down

The gaming world was absolutely outraged earlier this week when it appeared that Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak either didn't hear, or didn't bother to even ask if a contestant indeed did say the correct phrase during Monday's Bonus Round.

Fortune fanatics that live for their 7:30pm ET daily fix went absolutely berserk when a California high school music teacher, Megan Carvale, appeared to say the correct answer;  "Pink Orchid" after being given the letters, "P_N_ _RC_ _ D."

WAS SHE RIGHT?

Wheel of Fortune fans were replaying Megan's clip over and over - which to be honest, at first listen it DOES sound like she says the word "some-PINK Orchid."

However, in an appearance on ABC's Good Morning America, Carvale has now come clean and said that she appreciated the Fortune fans coming to her defense - and did they ever, but that she in fact didn't say Pink Orchard, but rather "Something Orchid."

"For the history books and for the sake of this desk — what did you say?" GMA cohost Michael Strahan asked Carvale.

"You know, I wish I said pink because I would have been $40,000 richer - but I said ‘something," Megan (perhaps foolishly!) admitted. "It’s funny because going onto the show, I was so excited to be a part of it, and I was so bummed that I lost to the bonus round."

RELIVING A LOSS

However, because the Internet is going to Internet, and Fortune fans are nice people but absolute lunatics, Carvale said she needed to set the record straight because she is now constantly ‘haunted’ by everyone bringing up her loss.

"Even just watching it back and thinking ‘okay just have to get through it, watch it once,’ but then I wake up yesterday and it’s all over headlines, everybody’s talking about the bonus round and I’m reliving this loss."

So there you have it you lovable Wheel wackos, not EVERYTHING is a conspiracy and although Pat Sajak seems to have clearly checked out and can't wait to retire after this season and never ask another puzzle question again, the game show is not out to get you or to screw over their contestants.

WHEEL OF FORTUNE CONTESTANT SENDS PAT SAJAK OFF THE RAILS

But I mean let's be honest - if you're Megan and have a chance to talk about it on Good Morning America after it went viral, you HAVE to say you said the correct answer. That's your moment to shine - and perhaps even get that $40,000.

Instead, she'll always wonder ‘what could have been!' had she not been so honest.
