'Yellowstone' Star Shares Massive Final Season Update

It sounds like cameras will resume rolling very soon on "Yellowstone."

The hit neo-Western from Taylor Sheridan is scheduled to return in November to finish out its fifth and final season. However, there has been a lot of drama surrounding the show going all the way back to very early 2023, and many fans have never been super confident that it'd return as scheduled.

The main question is whether or not Costner will return to finish out the show as John Dutton. While that still appears to be unknown, the production timeline is becoming much clearer.

"Yellowstone" star says show will resume filming soon.

Cole Hauser, who plays Rip in the hit Western, dropped the most significant update fans have had in probably at least a year about the status of the show. It's a good one! Production will resume at some point in May.

"My intention is to make sure we finish ‘Yellowstone’ strong, you know. This is the last season of that. I start in about 3 weeks. I just want to make sure that Taylor, Kelly, Luke, Wes, myself, everybody that has been a part of this show that we just end it. That is probably my focus, but there’s a ton of other stuff going that I’m excited about," Hauser told Whiskey Riff when discussing what's on the horizon for the show.

That's the clearest timeline fans have been given in a long time, and it's a very positive update. Production resuming in May means a November return is very likely. Still no word yet on Costner, but we'll take what we can get.

More than anything, fans are just desperately hoping we get the kind of ending we deserve. So much time and energy has been poured into the saga about the Duttons since the show first premiered in 2018.

After many ups and downs, the show is finally coming to an end once the credits roll for one final time at the end of season five.

It's been a hell of a journey, and anything less than an epic ending from Taylor Sheridan would be a huge disappointment.
