Buzz From 'Home Alone' Arrested In Bizarre Domestic Assault Case

It turns out that the actor who played Buzz in "Home Alone" just might be the big jerk he portrayed in the Christmas classic where he terrorized his little brother Kevin McAllister.

Devin Ratray, 44, who played the role of Buzz, was arrested Wednesday morning in Oklahoma and has been charged with domestic assault for punching and strangling his girlfriend while telling her she'd "die" for giving away his autograph for free, according to court documents.

The punching and strangling incident allegedly occurred December 8.

Ratray was in Oklahoma for a celebrity appearance and Oklahoma City's Pop Christmas Con. According to the arrest affidavit, Ratray and his girlfriend went to Mickey Mantle's Steakhouse where Buzz allegedly pounded a bottle of wine and downed "several" shots while the girlfriend had two cocktails.

Buzz and the girlfriend then hit up a Coyote Ugly where Kevin McAllister's brother pounded 10 more shots. The girlfriend alleges she didn't have any drinks while Ratray was going to pound town with the shot glasses.

At some point in the evening, according to KFOR, two women approach Buzz and ask for autographs. The girlfriend produces two signed cards from her purse and gives them to the women.

The affidavit states that's when Buzz lost it. The couple eventually returned to their room and Ratray is alleged to have pushed his girlfriend down on the bed and put one hand on her throat and one over her mouth.

“This is how you die,” Ratray said, according to the report.

Buzz eventually stopped choking her, but that's when he punched the woman, Detective Joseph Burnett of the Oklahoma City Police Department writes.

A quick check of eBay shows that a Ratray autographed card typically sells in the $13.50 range.

Ratray's lawyer says his client denies laying a hand on the woman, but that the couple definitely got into a disagreement. The lawyer adds that police were called to the hotel during the Dec. 8 incident and “didn’t see anything that they thought was sufficient enough to place him under arrest or take him into custody.”
